Description
i destroy that which harms me by simple virtue of continuing to exist
things get curiously rough when you relive past traumatic abuse at the hands of another, and then begin to connect with others who suffered similarly from the same abuser
idek if this information would ever be helpful to anyone, but sometimes when things seem kind of bleak, the only thing you can keep sure of is that you are still here, even if you are a little or a lot more worse for wear than when you had started out
you are still here and by that very fact means you will still conquer

You have such a great range of skills and styles in your work, and your more atmospheric pieces are a great example of that. I feel that the overall composition and lighting here beautifully capture a mixture of hope and trauma.
The speckles/particles create an impression of scattered light and soft glows, or otherwise snow, or fog, or even ash. I love the inclusion of the staff/cane, which in my eyes has a dual implication of injury and acquired wisdom. And the contrast between the two sides of the face (or mask?) looks like a crossing of distress and clarity -- that in spite of the pain, one can look onward.
I'm sorry for your experience. But the fact that you can come out and share this piece and these words on the matter warrants a great deal of respect. Thank you for this; I believe it's something many people need to hear, and it reminds me of things I've been through, too.
