Raven 1, Raven 2, you are clear to engage !
Xcom fighters intercepting a UFO. I blurred the sky a bit so the missiles and the smoke were easier to spot. Smoke and fire is made inside Daz Studio with volumetric props by Smay.

ive gotta ask why are they flying the F23 black widow and not the F22 or the XFS 105 Raven

It is actually a better interceptor than the f22. F22A has maneuverability, but is both slower and less stealthy than the F23.

because this is the only model I could find for the 3d program I use, that had a sort of xcom vibe

It's not a bad picture. Still, I would've shopped out all the U.S. Airforce stuff on the jets and swapped them out with XCOM decals.
One of the points of XCOM is that it's the world's united defence against the alien threat, with no country in particular being any greater or more important than the others.

Yes but if you don't launch satellites over a continent, you don't get radar coverage, and you can't send interceptors, that makes it less of a world wide thing. At least in the last game.
