Description (( Edit: I completely Forgot to mention this was my take on how Miles would look if he went "Turbo" :U   Yeah :U ))
((Edit 2: To be honest, the  "Great Peace" on Meobius is actually the counter to Mobius' "Great war" not the  Great harmony which Tails would later cause, lol oopsie >3>' but still, the feeling behind the drawing stands, Miles really never got a chance to be something special. ))

In the Archie Comics, ( Pre Sega Genesis wave)
Tails was more then just Sonic's adorable plucky sidekick, he was also holder of an important destiny.
Known as the "Chosen one" and referred as such by the likes of  Mammoth Mogul, Tails ( At least while in his "Turbo form") was supposed to being around an event called "Great Harmony". Wherein  all the Chaos Emeralds through the Mobian galaxy were to be brought together and fuse into seven individual  gems. which would then bring about a time of peace.

Least that's what happened on Mobius. >A>

Meanwhile, on Scourge's home planet of Meobuis, his Father, Anti-Jules was the one to bring about there "Great peace" ( albeit in a much different way)

So thinking about this made me wonder how Miles would have reacted, learning about his Good counterpart's importance.
I frankly think he would have been a bit bitter about it >A>
As I kind of view Miles as an scared, angry little boy who's just frustrated at the world for the lot he's been given >A>

That being said, I'm pretty happy with how this came out ahahahaaa :U I really enjoy drawing Miles >A>'

It makes a lot of sense to me that Miles can shoot lightning. If you do the research on the types of powers kitsune are supposed to have, there's different powers they can have depending on what element of kitsune they are. So Tails would be an Air Kitsune if anything, because he can fly and run at over 500 miles per hour - by generating wind from spinning his tails really fast - but that's about all he can do. Meanwhile, Miles happened to not be interested in engineering and focused a lot more on getting good at his powers and discovering what they were. Lightning kitsunes have power over not just lightning, but also the weather in general, leading to power over fire, wind, light, rain, and ice as well, so that combined with Miles focusing more on his connection with chaos energy would mean that he'd be a lot more powerful than Tails combat-wise from all the abilities he could potentially have, and it sucks that the comics never delved into this, because he'd be a pretty formidable foe showing off his powers. Instead he just comes off as Tails without the engineering aspect and nothing he's really talented at.

Awesome pic. Confirming my theory that Miles can do capes.

I think something worth noting is that Jules' Great Peace was an analogue to the Great War that ravaged Mobius Prime before Robotnik took over, not the Great Harmony which Tails caused.

Of course, whereas Tails warped all of his gathered Emeralds to the Void, I doubt Miles would do that. In my mind, he'd use them all at once. And then he'd probably spend a lot of time torturing Scourge.

Thank you!

Oh yes, I actually realized that shortly after submitting the image, but forgot to fix the description here on DA ;w;' I really should slap a new edit on there lol.

I agree with you thou, If Miles were to attempt to cause the Moebian Great Harmony, he'd most likely go mad with power or something else on that level, since there's so much more Anarchy Beryl compared to Chaos Emeralds.
Won't lie, it's a very interesting idea to muse on.
Thank you for the faves!

YW.

No worries, I'm just as bad about fixing mistakes. The only ones I ever fix are HTML errors in stories which turn the whole thing into italics.

Well, the Great Harmony is what caused the creation of the seven Emeralds, and before that, there were just as many Emeralds as Beryls.

I actually plotted out an idea like that. It involved Miles employing both his Anarchy powers and his magic to screw with Scourge's head. First, he fueled his ego, using familiars to make him think he had massacred the Suppression Squad. He then convinces FIona to explain the Great Harmony as it happened on Mobius, since that happened before she took leave of her senses, and responds that he intends to keep his Beryls. When Scourge tells him'll never get the chance, Miles replies that he summoned the Beryls two hours after Scourge was taken to the No-Zone.

For bonus points, when ti comes down to the fight, Miles uses his powers to appear as his eight-year old self that Scourge used as a punching bag in the past.

Oh I hate it when that happens.

Oh yes, also good point :U
Of course, this all only accounts for before the Comic reboot and the Sega genesis wave.

Oh gosh, that sounds like it'd make an awesome story thou >A>

And ohhh, see how, that'd be kind of a low blow Then again, I don't feel Scourge would exactly have a problem beating up a kid, even one whom he's nearly twice the age of.

ToaArcan In reply to Vanvor [2015-04-23 07:15:12 +0000 UTC]

Yeah.

Well, I consider the preboot and reboot comics to be two separate continuities. Little from either matters to the other.

Thanks.

Scourge certainly wouldn't have a problem attacking him, but since Miles would still have all of the Emeralds, he'd have a hard time getting his attacks to do anything more than annoy him.

And then immediately lost them. The only reason they got them back in the first place was so they could use it as an excuse to sell back issues from the preboot comics. The old comics have no bearing on the new ones, and while the characters remembered the old ones for a while, the events didn't actually happen.

I started writing it this morning. I imagine he'd let Scourge hit him for a while, and no-sell everything, before going all out.

Ah, but don't forget Ixis Naugus also regained his pre-reboot memories, and he did not lose them. confused by them greatly? yes, lose them? no.
Not that it even matters, it's of course up to Sega and the Archie comic writers to pick and choose which, if any pre-Reboot events are still canon, which I am fine with leaving in their capable hands.

Oh of course, I could see Miles taking great pleasure watching Scourge get more and more frustrated as his attacks did nothing to the "boy" he used to have no problem keeping under his boot.

He disappeared after he got them back, and the memories returned after he vamoosed.

I wouldn't exactly call them capable after the mess they made of things during the Mecha Sally arc.

Indeed.

Vanvor In reply to ToaArcan [2015-04-23 17:12:20 +0000 UTC]

Actually, the memories returned before he vamoosed, when he was trying to force Nicole to help him regain his magic powers, it was then, after his pre-reboot memories returned that he ran away, and thou his whereabouts are currently unknown,  I am quite sure he will be returning soon, seeing as they are in the works of trying to get some family for him ( I believe a witch character from the game "Tails' adventure ") approved.

Oh I'd say that's a bit harsh of you, don't you think?
I think they did rather well for having such a huge portion of their cast and mythos ripped out from under them by Ken Penders.
There were very few ways they could take the comic, and they needed a way in which to build up to the SGW.
You need to remember how many characters were suddenly  branded "off-limits" thus tying the writers hands on how to handle any given situation and just who they could use.

ToaArcan In reply to Vanvor [2015-04-23 17:48:10 +0000 UTC]

I made a mistake there, I meant to say that they faded after he vamoosed. THis is what happens when I don't pay attention.

I'm well aware of the issues, but ultimately:

Ian Flynn filled the story with filler, repeating the same structure (Heroes chase Eggman, one of them almost catches Mecha Sally, Sally gets away due to heroes being idiots, Sonic tries to pass it off as a success) three times in a row, just so he could fatten it out to two years, despite only having the substance to be one year. (I tried cutting the bullshit and it reads as a pretty decent eleven issue story) He also decided to build his plots around characters that were in dispute. An arc with heavy focus on the echidnas that Penders was trying to get, after he'd already lost the ability to use Hershey because of him? Not the smartest move.
Paul Kaminski had no idea what was going on, saying the arc would be half as long as it was, despite being the editor.
Archie's legal team sued Penders despite having no evidence. (THey got fired for this, though)
SEGA demanded a Mario and Sonic at the London Olympics tie-in... in October, over two months after the Olympics had ended. They also completely killed Archie's hopes of winning the lawsuit due to greed and laziness. Their ongoing demand that their characters have no development also hindered the story- Sonic and Amy are annoying, and Tails was just... kinda there.

However, I have to say that, after the reboot, things have improved massively.

I think Ian Flynn's run is a rollercoaster. They're kinda all-over the place. The 160s weren't anything special, just okay, the 170s were awful, even when they did something right it was also wrong in some way (Fiona's doing something now... by being completely derailed! Bunnie and Antoine are getting married... Without the development needed! Sonic and Sally are ship-teasing again... It'll take fifty issues for them to do something with!), the 180s were really good, so were most of the 190s, and then 197 happened and after that everything went downhill until it got a sorely-needed reboot.

Vanvor In reply to ToaArcan [2015-04-23 19:23:29 +0000 UTC]

Ah, well, still, Even if the memories have faded, that doesn't necessarily mean that they are gone without a trace.

What would you have rather seen them do differently?

The ploy of "Darn, almost got them, oh well, we'll get'em next time!" Has been used more then once in the comics,  case in point the Enerjak arc, Filler or not, it was just something to tied them over till they could get the reboot settled.
You bring up the point where he used characters that were in despite, but again, what would you have rather had them do? skirt around those characters all together as if they were no longer there?
It would have appeared quite odd if Geoffrey St. John and Elias among so many others suddenly vanished with no reason, you know?
Better to use them till the last second, then simply ignore them.

as for the matter with the Echidnas, they had to do that, out of all his creations, Penders is fondest of his "Knuckles recolors" ( As seen  by how he's gone and is attempting to make his own graphic novel with the characters barely changed.) It was once again, better to focus on them for a time then to simply sweep them under the rug.

SEGA is...putting the Archie Sonic team in a tough position, of that there is no doubt, they've tied their hands on a great many matters, from no longer being able to show the Sega!Sonic cast as children, to no longer being allowed to give them family. ( Ian pushing that "everyone" Calls Uncle Chuck "Uncle Chuck" Was in a way very clever, that way Sonic at least, in part has a member of his old-world family, as compared to Tails, Amy and Knuckles, who have literally lost every member of family they had in the comics. )  I do hope that SEGA "Lightens up" A bit, as time went by, but, I can also understand why they are being so tight fisted.
It was Archie Comics that approached SEGA about making a Sonic comic, not the other way around, ( If Memory serves) And Ken Penders had the nerve to sue SEGA as well as Archie Comics.
It's understandable how they'd rather not have a situation like this happen again.

I will also agree that I am rather enjoying things after the Reboot, thou there are a great many characters I miss. Mammoth Mogul, Scourge and his suppression squad to name a few.
But here is really where we enter a matter on personal opinion, since I, myself happened to have greatly enjoyed some of the 160s.
Thou, to be fair, we must also remember that Ian Flynn actually came on as lead writer on issue number 160,  It's to be expected for a new lead to take a few issues or so to "Get in the swing of things".
Something Flynn did, that others didn't, was to bring in Characters that were either long gone, or forgotten ( Thou, He abides by a "If they died, they're dead" Character rule ) such in the case with Tommy Turtle and Fiona fox, or to just, breath in new life to a character in unexpected ways ( Case in point, "Evil Sonic" Becoming Scourge, and  more then just a leather jacket, sun glass wearing copy of Sonic, and into a character that did some actual growing.)

I must disagree with Bunnie and Antonie getting married without any development, as a comic collector and reader since the wee early days, they've been rather smitten for a long time, the relationship development was slow, but it was there, and it was enough.

Sonic and Sally, I shant touch, since I'm honestly not a fan of that pairing ( I rather liked her with Monkey Khan) And to be quite honest, I didn't like Sally's character at all...until the reboot, something about her has changed, and it's for the better, at least in my opinion.

ToaArcan In reply to Vanvor [2015-04-23 20:23:32 +0000 UTC]

Flynn has no plans to tie the universe back to the old one. He wanted to go full reboot, and the only one who wanted to keep the old ones is Kaminski, who left the comic after 271.

First off, include Nicole. Then cut 236 and 239. Go straight to the Lupe and Hathor plot. We don't need to see Sonic and AMy have a robot-smashing contest. We don't need to see Sonic fight Sally and let her go. We don't need to see AMy do the same. When Tails fights Sally in 238, change that to all of them fighting her. Next off, do something with the Sally vs. Elias plot. Rather than have her look in his house and give up because he's not there, have her keep looking and find him. This would last one or two issues. Then go directly into At All Costs. In the second part of that, Sally is defeated, and Nicole goes into her processor, which is essentially a reverse of the Sally vs. Iron Nicole fight, while Eggman attempts to recover Sally with some new robot, which Sonic, Tails, and Amy fight. The heroes win, Sally is free, but stays a robot until they can deroboticize her. However, the Death Egg is not destroyed, and while the fights were going on, it was repaired, allowing Eggman to escape and pull the SGW. This would be done more-or-less within a year.

The Mecha Sally Arc was planned out well before they decided to do the SGW. In fact, the original plan for the arc was to terminate it at 250, which, notably, is just another part of Worlds Collide.

He made a whole four-part story about the Echidna, which had nothing to do with Mecha Sally anyway. Elias and Geoffrey weren't so bad, the were relevant and were available right up to the end. The echidna were neither.

I find the idea that SEGA are controlling the story and characters a tad silly, considering that their handling of both has been pretty bad since Colours.

Penders could only sue SEGA if he was recognised as owner of his Archie work. Ergo, in order to sue SEGA, Penders needed to win the suit Archie filed against him first. So by not helping Archie, SEGA opened themselves up to get sued by Penders.

The Suppression Squad weren't Scourge's anymore. THey ditched him, and he's with the Destructix now. I'll miss Mogul too, and Finitevus. The Squad are characters I'd keep, and Fiona's removal is a bittersweet one, in that she used to be one of my favourites, but Flynn turned her into an unlikeable and utterly worthless villain. Scourge's removal is something I find amusing. He was basically Flynn's pet villain, and the only thing that could stop him was SEGA telling FLynn no.

Fiona was already back in the limelight. She'd been dating Sonic since 155.

The relationship development was there, until Karl Bollers decided that Antoine should be a jerk and break up with Bunnie after Sonic got spaced. Then they'd barely got back together when Flynn said "Get them married now". They had a fair few issues to work through before they should've been at that point.

Her relationship with Ken was something that really didn't make sense, considering that the last time they saw each other, Ken kidnapped her and tried to force her into a relationship with him, and then Sonic beat him up. And then in Iron Dominion, he acted like a complete tool, witheld information about Regina which could've stopped Bunnie, himself, and Nicole from getting brainwashed. And then when Nicole did get brainwashed, (Which was Ken's fault), he decides to fix his error by... murdering her. With Sonic and Sally still in her processor. So Sally's new boyfriend gets both of her best friends brainwashed, and then manages to almost kill one of them, and Sally herself in one go. Truly, this is a relationship that is going to last.

Sally's character was a problematic one. See, the issue with Sally is that Karl Bollers didn't like her, and kept trying to make her look worse to make Mina (His pet character) better. He then decided that he should make her unlikeable so that readers would be okay with Sonic cheating on her with Amy. Then Penders came back and said "Nope, that's dumb", and dropped the plot. However, Penders had his own issues. Rather than resolving her issues with Sonic, he decided to make a story out of Sonic dating other girls and not finding a spark. Not a bad idea, but Sally's role in this was to... pout, and then get forced to marry Patch. Which the Sally-haters said was her decision. Which it wasn't. And then Flynn came in and decided that Sally had to be always right and badass and cool so that people would like her again. And Fiona got derailed to facilitate this a bit.

I didn't say he planed on tying back to the pre-reboot universe, only that certain characters still have memories of their former lives, which will effect how they interact with certain characters. Such as Sonic still viewing uncle Chuck as his uncle.

I'll admit that would have been interesting, but also sounds like it would have come off extremely cluttered to pull off in only 12 issues.

Again, He Needed to have that four-part dealing with the Echidnas, if for no other reason, then to explain away Julie-Su and Saffron.

I agree with on the topic of SEGA, It's already hard enough for the Archie Sonic crew needing to build a new universe without SEGA tying their hands on the SegaSonic crew.

Ah, actually. Penders sued SEGA over the Nocturnus clan and the game they appeared in "Sonic and the Dark brotherhood" For the ds.
Claiming that the Nocturnus were too much like his Dark Legion creation and that Shade was a "pale imitation" of Julie-su...whom she is nothing like in all honest.

I see, It's amusing, our views on Scourge and Fiona are switched.
I'd rather much have him back then her.
I'll remind you that Fiona was brought back by Ian in the first place.
And it wasn't "SEGA telling him no" It was the fact that Penders created the "Evil Sonic" Character, and laid claim to him. ( As well as Robo-Robotnik, who was/is the current Eggman.)

Fiona dating Sonic made as much sense as Tails marrying Mina in the Future arcs. bringing her back just to be a "Replacement for Sally" was uneeded, you want to talk about lack of development, that relationship had none at all let alone really, it made no sense, there was no reason for Sonic to like Fiona romantically, they weren't alike and they had nothing in common.
In all honest, her "turning villian" was an actually interesting character point, and let's be honest, the Destructix were her group, not Scourges.

I'll be truthful and say I don't remember when Antonie and Bunnie broke up, but I've a feeling it was also around the time Patches had secretly taken Antonie's place.
And just because they had broken up, does not undo all the relationship building they had done.

The thing with Ken you're forgetting is he was from a different part of Mobius where they did things differently. his way of life, and how he did things were not the same as the main cast's.
Yes, he was rather..abrasive. this has always been part of his character.
And he, as many others, only view, or viewed Nicole as a computer program. not as an actual person at that time.
Ken is/was a prideful character, it was hard enough for him in the first place to come to Knothole for help.

That is the problem with Sally, it seems the writers either want to
A: ship her with sonic, even thou it's normally forced.
Or
b: not ship her with Sonic, and make it all seem like Sonic's fault.

And in all honesty, Sally has always been portrayed to be "always right"

But I digress, This has been an interesting discussion, and I thank you for it, but I believe we both simply have different stances on the characters and writers in the comic, and I think I'd rather stop before we say something that may upset the other XD
I do wish you a nice day/night.

Sonic explicity said his memories were fading.

It certainly wouldn't have taken 25.

Nah, we didn't need that, and the SGW would have explained that. Same way we didn't need an arc explaining where Finitevus or Mogul went.

Yup.

Yes, he did, but he couldn't actually go anywhere with that until he'd secured ownership of Julie-Su and co. He had to win the suit with Archie first.

I honestly couldn't stand Scourge. And Penders actually couldn't acquire him, because he was very obviously Sonic in a jacket. The Suppression Squad would've been in the clear, but SEGA said they didn't want anymore evil Sonics, bar their own ones.

Sonic dating Fiona was supposed to be part of Sonic dating other girls and not feeling anything. They were never meant to be a long-lasting relationship.
Her turning villain could've been interesting if her motives for doing so were made completely invalid nineteen issues prior (In 153, she expresses disgust at Evil Sonic's attempt on her, and opnely forgives Sonic for leaving her behind, which were the only things Flynn used to turn her bad), and she actually did something other than be an evil Sally/Amy. Meanwhile, the Destructix were her team... until Scourge got them all on his side in prison.

It's in 133. While Fiona is fixing up Sonic's arm, she tells him that Antoine and Bunnie broke up. GIven that both of them went through a lot while Patch was impersonating Antoine, including Bunnie getting manipulated by Evil Sonic, they'd need to get a bit closer again first.

Yes, but that doesn't excuse his jerkish behaviour, nor would "He's from a different culture" make "You got my best friends brainwashed and nearly killed one of them" attractive to Sally.
Sally tends to get rather angry at people who mistreat Nicole, even if it's just because they're misinformed. (See Mina in 221). Killing her would be a major no-go.

THat's more of SEGA's meddling. If they just let Sonic be in a longer-lasting relationship, she'd just be with Sonic pretty much permanently and we wouldn't have to worry about that.

Except in the Bollers era, when she was always wrong. THe thing is that she's flanderized, like a lot of the characters are. Originally, she was generally smarter than Sonic, so this got exaggerated and now he's an idiot and she's never wrong.

Okay then. If I finish that story I mentioned, I'll send you a link.
