Description temporarily busting my dA hiatus to serve up another Thanksgiving comic

This is based on some recent Gogo-tweets. Really, when you think about it, all this really amounts to is a little extra psychological dressing on raising and eating your own livestock, so it's not especially all that clever. But still, something that Gogo would do. It will be interesting when she moves on to beef dinners, or--of course--hams.

Poor Pablo has discovered he is horrified and fascinated by snoods.

happy thanksgiving!

They raised a baby pig.. they gave it a name... played with it, let it sleep in their bed..

One day one of their kids asked where it was... my coworker pointed at the plate of ham they were eating.

I think how psychologically affecting it is also depends on a person's individual ranking of said animal on their hierarchy of intelligence.

For me, it'd be hard to do this to, say, a pig, or a dog, or a cat, but pretty easy with almost any type of fish or fowl. (And generally most people are down with killing bugs with or without intent to consume)

In any case, getting attached to an animal always makes it a notch more difficult to do some death-dealing. Unless you're Gogo, in which case it's the extra gravy on top.

Well, on a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being an entirely nonexistent, inconceived entity and 10 being a living, breathing organism, i suppose a comic character falls somewhere in the middle of the reality spectrum, given that its theoretical existence is acknowledged on some level by numerous individuals as an archetype with a limited range of idiosyncratic features...

Well regardless of her existence or not, I find Gogo sort of relatable in the way that her weird way of thinking sometimes mirrors my own.
...right down to the claws.
And I really like that about her. She has actual CLAWS and not filed down nails.
When I'm agitated, my first instinct is to scratch stuff. She must go through a lot of upholstery and clothing with those things.

I read this comic this morning but didn't have the time to write a proper comment.

The first time I read this the second panel made me chuckle, and after reading the third panel I laughed out loud for some time. I still laugh reading it. "I wants the plump, juicy meats of death and betrayal. And it shall be mine, and it shall be delicious in its tragedy." I love Gogo so much!

Because in the beginning of this story I was almost confused about Gogo deciding to have a turkey as a pet while I know she loves these birds as food. Haha, her dialogue is just so epic and hilarious in its dark philosophy about Gogo's animalistic love for meat.

Ah I wish I had more to say about this, but I just really enjoy reading your comics! C:

Thanks!

Though now that i think about it, as potentially "dark" as this outlook may seem, it's actually an arguably more humane and doting way to go about being a carnivore (assuming the kill technique is indeed "swift and painless")

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

JWiesner In reply to VanHeist [2013-11-26 15:06:00 +0000 UTC]

Oh yes! I always respect a person that takes good care of the animal when (or rather "even if") they plan to eat its meat. It's more thoughtful that way, but I can't really explain why.

Is there going to be a sequel to this or is this a single holiday comic? Just thought it would be fun to see Didi's reaction the day Gogo's plan was a delicious success, lol! Besides, it's probably hilarious to watch her devour her fav food, because she comes off as a little beasty for some reason. xD Table manners are overrated.

You know, maybe she hears that by eating your prey, you consume their strength. Maybe she'd try to super train/buff up the turkey.Β

And then they end up with stringy dry thanksgiving.Β

This is actually a sense of deja vu for me. I had a neighbor once who had a rather large Turkey

(Ironically his name was also Cornell). I helped care for this fella, enjoying my time with the friendly bird.

Then...the day came. I was gone for most of the day, and got a call from the said neighbor to come

over for Thanksgiving dinner. Sadly my head wasn't in the game at the time and I had asked, "How's Cornell today?"

Then he said, "That depends" "Depends on what?" "Depends if you want white or dark.."

He tasted so good, yet...I felt so bad.

The lesson is...don't grow attach to livestock of any kind...
