Part two in a series, in which we find that "maybe" is pretty damn complicated, even contractual. Basically, Hector crushes on very difficult females to begin with, and Cora May is nothing if not bureaucratically formidable. But he's got himself a date, so good on him.And good on you if you waded through all that text.

I've several thoughts here:
Β - Whereas I wish for more casual(?) girlfriend for myself, if I was this girls' or her boyfriend's friend (preferably both), I would love to know everything I appropriately could of their relationship (just as I wish to see more of these characters in the future).
Β - As believably as this character is presented here, I do not think, that girls like this exists (which is a shame, really)

If you mean the comic though, most of the pages are like this, so it might be a bit too cartoony for your taste. (I personally find it very funny, tho.)

How far the joke went. Every joke has a point where the joke is made and people laugh but continuing is to "drag it out". For me it seemed very drawn out. I have followed Van for a while and have read all of these strips and for the most part I find he lands right around the sweet spot of the jokes. This specific one just happened to be far too far for my taste. It went from humorous to tedious.

You must understand that everyone's sweet spot might be in different places than others.
I understand what you mean about jokes caring on too long, though. I have had the feeling before of laughing at a joke, then hearing the joke continue, and continue, and wondering why on earth others are still laughing.
