Description Yesterday afternoon after 14 years as our faithful family pet my family bid fair well to our Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier  Guinness. Coming home to an empty house today I realized how profoundly empty out home feels with out him  . So I wanted to post this picture of him in his prime. Such a handsome boy I know  So this is in remembrance of him. I miss him already very deeply, but I know that he is in a better place and no longer suffering .

Oh my dear friend.. I am so very sorry for your loss! I can only imagine what you must be going through. The emptiness must be confusing and painful. ;_; When I lost my dear George almost four years ago, I felt so lost. Letting him go was for the best and he did live a long life but it hurt my entire family nevertheless. I grew up with George. George was a huge part of my life and the reason I became interested in dogs.

Guinness was a gorgeous Wheaten and this photo of him shows it all! He lived a long wonderful life, thanks to you and your family.

Seeing this deviation in my notifications just about made my heart stop. D: I was like, Noooooo not VampireHuntress's ol' boy!

I am here for you if you need to talk. Please shoot me a note any time.

Thank you so much. This sort of response lifts my spirits, And it shows what a great community we have here one DA. Losing him has been hard. I have no other pets at all, so the house feels way too quiet and empty with him gone... especially when I am home alone.  But he was 14 or so, very old, getting achy and creaky, and losing his mind a little. So I know he is in a better place and that we did the right thing so that he could go with dignity.

Guinness was my first ever dog. After three gold fish when I was five; Ariel, Ursula, and Sebastian, and my hamster; Roamer. We had asked my dad for years if we could get a dog and he always said no. Until finally the summer just after fifth grade he said yes, I can still remember going to see the litter of puppies and picking him out. Going to visit him and then finally taking home out brown little teddy bear of a pup. He was always a little hyper, a little weird, and a little crazy, but that was what made him so wonderful, and he had personality to spare.

But Guinness was the best of dogs, and more importantly the best of friends and companions. The best furry little brother I ever had.

Thank you so much for you compassionate condolences my friend

Aww.. When I lost George, I had Navi by my side. She has gotten me through so much. I find art helps keep me busy and forget the loneliness sometimes.

That is beautiful! Those are the memories we need to remember about our faithful furry family members! Awwr! Navi too is a "little" hyper, weird and crazy!
I love the names you gave your other pets!

I really wish I could do more, honestly. You are so strong! Hang in there!

This is so sad
It's always very sad to have furry family members pass away, especially dogs as they show you so much love and all they ever want is for their owners to be happy.
It's good to know that he had a long, happy life though, and had owners that really cared about him.
*trying hard not no cry*

Thank you so much for your heartfelt condolences  they mean a lot, and show what a great community we have on DA that we can be brought together by something like this. and offer comfort to one and other. He really was a very good dog, and as he got on in years was in pain from his joints and a deteriorating disk as well as losing his mind a little. I am happy we were able to allow him to pass with the dignity his long years as my furry brother and my best friend deserved.
