woo hoo! i love it,.. and you even remembered rustrod,... the rooster who's crowing i so loud itwakes up all the dead souls in hel's domain every morning (hehe)
i love norse mythology too,... i did a little study last year, reading about hel and drew up her family tree among the pantheon,... it's pretty interesting stuff(:

Very surprising. The castle alone with ice crystals would make this an amazing picture, but everything else added to it is dreamlike.

Yeah, because of nosyness and curiosity Odin lost an eye and remained nailed to Yggdrasil's bark for 9 days.

I wish too;D But... in this way, we could imagine something, of course. For example queen Hel, as we know, is very intolerable person, she wants everything for herself, and she didin't want to live in palace belongs to somebody's elese, because before she has born this land's ruler was another queen, for example Helvede (in Dansk it means "hell") and this second castle was her, but as I wrote, Hel didin't want to sit in somebody's else throne, so she decided to build a new palace. It was very hard work, because all castles and palaces require a lot of time and materials. Queen Hel was furious but she was waiting for her new home.
Of course we can tell another story

magickal mood and atmosphere you captured the essence of this mythology so well and the splash of bright color in the rooster is so random and Briallant. Nicely done !! Thanks for sharing the story also.
