I started this a month or two ago but Inktober happened and couldn't finish it, until now @ o @Stuck with an analogous palette bc I wanted to try using greys lol Β

Here's finally my part of the critique exchange 
I'd like to start out with saying that I really like the color palette you picked for this. It suits the theme, and really gives you the impression they're somewhere in the woods, without seeing much of the surroundings. The rimlight on the back of the dog and the hunter good indication of the direction of the light. I do wish the shading was a bit deeper, and a bit more defined. This would bring the painting to life a bit more, and also define the clothing of the hunter a bit more. This is my personal preference though
I like the hunters design: it's simple without being simplistic, if that makes sense. The dog is just adorable. The only question I have is: Are they meant to be looking in the same direction? I have the impression the hunter is looking straight ahead, while the dog is looking a bit more to their right. It's just a minor detail, and it might just be the result of the different build of their skulls.Β
