What a haunting image. What I love most about this photo is the lax state the hands are in.. they seem like they're not attatched to a person, which is very creepy

I was searching for a word that really fit it for me and someone mentioned abandonment, that's it perfectly I think.
The emptiness besides the hands and the fact that they aren't actually restrained speaks volumes.
It's as if the person not only was abandoned there by others but ended up doing the same to themselves; completely defeated and unable to lift themselves out of this old way and ancient punishment
