Finally posting this! Finished it last month but I kept forgetting to photograph it.

My mum taught me to sew when I was about seven, while she was making me a costume for a school thing. I got quite into it. I remember the other kids in school taking this piss out of me, because it's really not a cool hobby, but luckily I stuck with it anyway. Last month, chemo was really stressing me out, so I started taking my embroidery kit to the hospital with me and working on this during treatment, to try and keep myself sane. I spent a few hours at it each day - I think it probably took like 18-20 hours total. I'm so pleased with how it came out, even if the edges are a little wobbly! The piece of calico I had was literally just wide enough to fit in the hoop - it kept slipping, but I just got away with it. I did stab myself in the hand quite badly at one point doing this, but luckily I didn't get any blood on it haha

I'd like to do more of these in future, but I think I might stick to smaller ones with just one toko at a time, this was a hell of an undertaking!
