YAY! I've always wanted to draw a kingfisher! But I haven't had the courage to do it.. what if I messed up, what if I wasn't good enough?!?But I should have just gone for it! I think this turned out pretty good. ^^
(The colors may be a bit off..a bit pale.. sorry for that, but i don't have a scanner.)
Tools used:
- "Toscana aquarello"-paper, 100% cotton, cm 15x15, 300 g/m2
- Faber-Castell, Albrecht DΓΌrer pencils
- Winsor & Newton, Cotman water colours
- Amsterdam acrylic paint, Titanium white
- and water of course!

Yea, some times I REALLY wished that I could do a lot of Ctrl z myself xD
So if I had a computer that was strong enough to deal with photoshop, I think I would have used that more. My thought is that it is less stressing in that way x)

i did if i remember correctly x ux not sure tho :I i was even in a class on preschool who was called after this bird xD it was the.....-thinks-.....2nd grade i guess x3 i do need to draw more realism as i see some of the amazing realistic animals like this one x ux and what is the Norwegian name then? o.o here its Ijsvogel x3

Thanks^^ yea, i do recommend it, it is really fun and you have to challenge your self.. It is only recent I've begun to try realism...and I think I learn much much more from this than just making stuff from my imagination
The norwegian name is Isfugl. I guess Ijs = is = ice ..and vogel = fugl = bird

yea I see.. Dutch is a cool language but your sounds I think is a bit difficult to describe without these [..sound language]..if you know what I mean
I had a room mate from the netherlands.. when she spoke dutch I was just blown away.. lots of sounds i couldn't even pronounce

I just saw your conservation and it made me smile. I'm German and the name for this little bird here is "Eisvogel" ... so quite the same in meaning. The pronunciation is similar, we just pronounce "Vogel" rather like "fogl", not "fugl" ... but these details just show how close our languages are.
Anyway, very well done drawing. I really like the details on the feathers. I also love this bird and I have even seen one already (a blue flash shooting over a river while I was looking down from a bridge).

I took a course in japanese for a year (so basic as you can get it) and in my oppinion after what I have heard by my roommate, it is much easier to pronounce japanese words than dutch ones! So creds to you! haha ^^

Aaah so that's how it works! Here in Norway..(or at least me).. we just say Nederland (the netherlands) and never Holland...I thought it was the "old name" of the Netherlands which wasn't in use anymore
