Here I used a thick mixture of ultramarine and Vandyke brown for the dark background and a mixture of pathelo blue and viridian hue for the mid tones while the highlights were made from washes of medium yellow and slight touches of viridian hue. Once this was done I rendered in the details using color pencils I am happy with the outcome considering this was my first serious watercolor painting. The general idea with this one is again related to self esteem issues and how sometimes it is so hard for an individual to get out of his/her complexes so much so that he/she feel trapped ad start to yearn for freedom. Here I have left out some of the features in the face so it is up to the viewer to see if the subject is a girl or a boy
