A DA-comment reminded me that I haven’t really drawn Matt the Pony, AKA Clever’s original non-converted self, in a while. And I’ve never done him with colored lines. So I decided to do that.
I also gave him a little patch of dark brown on his hooves since when his fur is at its longest he does have large tufts of dark brown fur down there. He just shaves it regularly. (And of course as a cyberpony those parts aren’t even visible.)

I find it almost funny how this guy evolved actually.
When I first set out to make an Eleventh Doctor Pony I decided against using the common "background-Doctors" since...picky me couldn't get over the fact that they have the wrong eye color

So I just designed a pony with a dark brown mane and a fur-color similar to the Eleventh Doctor's jacket. Also he was an earth pony at first... With normal sized ears.

Somewhere along the line I accidentally made his ears unusually large... And I decided "Huh that looks kind of cute..." so I decided to keep them that way even though I know big ears are more the Ninth Doctor's thing...but hey, who's to say the trait couldn't return? He's not exactly Matt Smith's double...I mean he's a freaking horse.

At this point I didn't exactly have a story for him, I considered making a story for The Doctor and his Pony where the gang would reach Equestria and the Doctor uses a perception filter to turn himself into a pony.
Eventually he did get a part on the Doctor and his Pony...but rather than making it the humanoid Doctor who turned into a pony, a pony-version of him simply wandered in from another universe. (More precisely TTDinky's universe... but he was eventually replaced by Clever for that storyline.)

The next big change that happened was the wings.
Again their addition was kind of random. I liked drawing wings so I drew him with wings. Ever since then I just made him permanently a pegasus.

Next was the colors... Early in the Doctor and his pony he was rarely ever consistent and he could be anything from bright grayish beige to dark brownish gray. I really wanted to give him a permanent colorscheme, but I also started to feel like the grey-brown made him look too much like the original Doctor Whooves, or Time Turner.
Now usually I do design ponyfied characters with their fur color being their normal clothing. For the Eleventh Doctor at the time it was the beigeish vest (I'm not good at color names, sue me). But...it just didn't feel right.
So I made him chocolate brown:b

So at this point in time I had a chocolate brown pegasus with oversized ears.

The next change happened over time when Ask Mister Clever was created. That being that he started to get fluffier. One of my readers pointed out that his fluffiness seemed to mirror Discord Whooves' nose, which also got larger as time went on...so I made a joke that Clever was actually cloned from Dissy's nosehair.
Eventually I just decided to make him a part of an old pony-race I invented from before all the Whooves' blogs; The arctic ponies, or snowponies. (Inspired by IRL shetland ponies) only he'd shave his fur so he didn't look quite as extreme.
I have drawn him in full fur coat a few times, when its at its longest the fur around his feet turn dark brown and he also gets dark brown fur around his face, similar to a beard. This was curiously enough inspired by Matt Smith himself, who's hair apparently grows really fast, and the couple of times we've seen the Eleventh Doctor sporting a full beard.

Even Clever's cybernetics weren't safe. I made a couple of different designs before making the blog, at which point I settled on the current design... minus one "spike" coming out from his facial cybernetics. That was added by accident and just sort of stuck.

And then of course there's Chibi...who started out looking just like this guy but with beige points on his wings, feet and ears, as well as gold tips on his tail and mane... since then his coat got brighter and his bright parts more glittery.

And now he's got brown fetlocks again even in his normal form.
I don't think he'll ever stop changing.
