I do love the coloring techniques you use for this, a combo of bright and dark elements that goes well without making it look odd. The shading is great and the light (or lack of it) is just enough. I think it would look more awesome if the lines are cleaned up, but still it gives a rough edge and I like it. I think what stands out the most here is his eyes; they're piercing, sinister and full of tricks, just as a Cheshire Cat character should be. The dark surroundings emphasize it more, plus it also reminds me of the Cheshire Cat scene in Burton's version of Alice in Wonderland, dark but still alluring and elegant.
Plus the pose. Never forget the pose. It's definitely catlike, perfect enough without making it look awkward, since he's still part human. Overall it's an amazing piece, you've definitely improved a lot over the years. e.deviantart.net/emoticons/m/m⦠" width="15" height="15" alt="
