I just can't ignore the urge to draw marak and kate after reading the 1st book of the hollow kingdom. I love this book very much and it inspired me to read books. (I'm not much or a reader... hehe) I've read all 3 books and i'm still thinking how i will draw the other events that i like..
I don't really like how pale the colors of this one turned out to be. I just wish i didn't draw this on bond paper...but oh well. Also, i think i made marak still too handsome(he's supposed to be scary!)...I just can't help it..
(And yes. he has six fingers and has a pale gray skin tone. in case you guys are wondering.)

Everyone wants to make Marak prettier than he is. It's a thing. I think it's because we all love him - it's impossible to think him ugly.

I just finished the book and I absolutely loved it!! I love Kate and Marak's relationship and when I found this, I just had to scream in excitement! I wish soooo badly that the second and third book should've been about the two

It must be hard for the kings to be constantly rejected by their wives and the wives feeling desperate and full of fear being a wife of a total stranger that looks like a mix of anything but animal. And i agree with the looks, how frail can Claire look contrast to the ideals of goblins who are strong and powerful.

Yea, Catspaw gets quite aggressive about that, too XD But he hasn't had any training. Can you imagine being a young Marak, being told "oh, yea, and your wife's gonna hate you so it'll be years before you get some."

I know what you mean by not resisting the urge to draw Marak and Kate! After I read the first one, I went on a chibi drawing spree and drew most of the characters as chibis! I have a page full of them!

Oh I absolutely love it! ^^ I stumbled upon the series in High School and it's been years, I just got the seires for Christmas to re-read and I just couldn't put them down. As soon as I saw this picture it just blew my mind it looks exactly how I would of pictured them <3

i didn't care much for the third book. I guess it's because Marak is my favorite character. but yeah try and see if the stores do special ordering or order it off of amazon. I got the whole set in a special order.

I know what you mean. The third book was really sad and I missed Marak terribly. Catspaw just isn't as interesting as his dad. Also, my library didn't carry the second book so I was a little lost about certain things. I'll have to order some copies online sometime when I have the money.

I will. I've searched and search for it. But none of the local book stores seem to carry any of Clare B. Dunkle's books. And my school only had the first and third book. How weird is that? I may have to buy the whole set online. The first book is one of my favorites. I've read it twice already.

that's too bad...I also had a hard time finding the second book, I got it (i think) two or three months after buying the third, and i didn't want to read the third book until i find the second, haha~
