Thanks,i really have no idea why.this version(of 2004's Batman)was the wittiest, psychiest and generally much closer to the idea of Joker, than all the others combined imo.

He held his own. While I fell in love with the Mark Hamill version, one hit to the jaw and he was down.

I don't know;My humble opinion is that Hamill didn't sound right,it seemed like a forced interpretation, whereas Richardson sounds like he was born for it.He executed the lines written for the part like he-himself wrote them-complete synchronization with facial expressions and tone of voice.

Well, Hamill as Joker in the Arkham games is the Joker I really fell in love with. When you compair the two Jokers. Mark's Joker from the Batman cartoon series embodies the brain behind the fool's face; able to keep Batman on his toes and still crack a good joke while he's doing it. But he's more "sane" (A.K.A Less Deadly) than most other versions. I mean, in the entire series, it was implyed on screen that he only killed one person (See episode "Holiday Knights", Season 4, episode 1). But hey, the censors back then were REALLY strict.
Richardson's Joker is a hint of genius but mostly clown. As a clown, the hyperactive fool, he's able to throw punches at Batman and take hits much better than Hamill's Joker could. But unfortunetly, once again, this Joker fails to kill anyone even though he's more "Screwloose" (as everyone says he is in the series). The only time I can even think where he MIGHT have killed someone would be in the Batman VS Dracula movie. That girl working at the blood-drive, you wonder why she wasn't enjoying the all you can drink buffet with Joker?
Both have their own unique quallities that make them stand out as the Clown Prince of Crime for their own demensions.(sp?) Honestly, I don't understand why people hate The Batman's Joker where the Joker from "The Brave and the Bold" is just garbage. Seriously...
Aside from that. The one that seems to be a perfect mix between the two as well as adding in the demonic nature of Joker's "insanity" is probably the Joker featured in "Under the Red Hood" played by Di...um....DiAmago?....He plays Bender in Futurama....Anyway; this Joker really is the closest one to the comic book version, funny, brilliant and deadly. Dispite his short screen time in the movie he still stands out as a great version of Joker.
But if we're stating opinions. My favorite is the Joker featured in the Arkham games. Yes, although he is voiced by Mark Hamill (mARK HAMill...Get it?) this Joker is finally able to do what he couldn't do as a kid's Saturday Morning cartoon villian. He is a deadly, comidic, stylish and Batman-obsessed clown that everyone has expected him to be. If you haven't played the games yet, I highly recomend it. If you don't have the equipment to play it on, I suggest watching a playthrough like I did.

I have the equipment,i just do not have the time i want to enjoy my games, being a doctor really takes its toll on one's free time.Batman Arkham asylum is on my lists of ''must play''eventually,i just don't know when that ''eventually'' will be .
The Hamill series Joker i remember fondly watching as a teenager back on 1992 and even though i have the complete series on a drive i never felt like revisiting it,that Joker, didn't cut it for me-also times were simpler back then-there was no demand for such clever innuendos and psychotic perplexity as nowadays. We,as enthusiastic and impressionable kids would still love it,but becoming an opinionated adult and seeing things diffirently i vote for Richardson-out of all Jokers.
Who knows maybe playing the Arkham games,i might have an added perspective on it.
Well regarding violence and the Joker;it's all a matter of censhorship-in all versions, the producers had to contend with the fact that they were addressing minor audiences-and so their hands were tied in terms of what violence can a villain sink into.In comics,it's really hard to allow murder,in animated series, equally,in games and movies..well,it's addressed to a wider(most probably older)audience and it must have the thrill of the ''forbidden'' so as it can attract more people into it.That's why the dark knight's joker by Heath Ledger turned out to be such a sociapathic murderous ambiguity,we(as audience)kinda grew accustomed to the Joker being as he was on all series and comics throughtout the years, the producers finally unleashed that repressed version of him that goes on murderous streaks because they finally got the chance and knew it would sell bigger and better than the comics/series.Plus Ledger died so..instant actor Godhood and the title of the best Joker by most viewers-if not all-which i don't agree with mind you.
