Joan is an american black bear that resides in the forest camping grounds between the suburbs and the Salmon Road Center for Conservation. She falls under the category of bears mothers in the reserve warn their cubs about.
She has an intense fascination for anthropology / human culture. Joan is very chatty when it comes to the topic and considers herself a real scientist.
Joan prides herself on being far more intelligent than any bears in the "sheltered" environment of the nature reserve due to her superior understanding of the People World around them. She is a people watcher and enjoys stealing human objects (Especially music and clothing) to hoard in her den.
