I've read the comic and I'm still not connecting the dots. Can someone explain this one to me?

I thought they were freshman in the comic, because they were looking around the stalls, choosing out clubs they might participate in, indicating that they were freshman. And the CMC weren't at CHS in the comic.

True, that one comic (which was a flashback) took place when they were freshmen. The whole "humiliation" arc takes place potentially years later, though, after Sunset swaps sides. We don't know how long ago Sunset went to the human world.
