I hated flying as the A-Wing for some reason. But I never was good as the interceptor class.

Bomber class was my favorite! slow, but tanky, and able to completely wreak the cruisers and frigates. Their guns also did a lot of damage to fighters.

I preferred the fighter class. All around and could wreck both fighters and frigates/cruisers

And I'm listening to Halo 3 Never Forget right now AND IT'S BRINGING BACK SO MANY MEMORIES!!!

I just dug out Battlefront II and made myself play a 300 point battle using the A-Wing. I died a lot, and not many systems got destroyed, but I did it!
And ya, the fighter class are pretty good. They were made with the idea of being multipurpose.

This fighter trades its shields and armament for its speed and jamming capabilities. Some have this ship with two laser cannons, other times it's concussion missiles. But as I recall, three A-wings took out the Executor Super Star Destroyer. Two knocked out the shield generators, and the leader of Green Squadron finished off the Executor in a kamikaze. As actor Randy Quaid would say, "In the words of my generation .... UP YOURS!!" I'm not saying that to you; it just came to mind.

I had a friend who said there's no shame in a kamikaze. To me, as long as you take out the main enemy flagship, it's a noble sacrifice.
