Yet another thing that has taken up my time this fall. This is a surprise portrait commissioned by my local bank of the former bank president. He couldn't know about it since it was a gift to him for his 50th anniversary of working at the bank. So I had to frankenstein a bunch of pictures to come up with the reference, and it took me about 5 weeks to actually paint. Warning: megan staring at the same piece of art for this length of time = psychotic artist who demands caffeine on threat of painting it all black.

I also discovered that I dislike not being able to take my own reference. It make me life more difficult.

Well, it all turned out okay. The man I painted (Dennis) was so happy when he found out I painted this that he gave me a hug. And I got pictures. And hopefully more commissions after this.
