It can take a little time to build your character up, but for me, roleplaying and chatting with other fans really helped. Just do your best and don't worry about comparing your characters to others'. She (or he) will be unique to you. And if you need help, you can note me, if you like.

The site Uni linked you to is a very good way to get started. If you're an artist or writer, making art of your character can help define who they are and what their goals are, fears, interests, and so on. That's what makes a character interesting.
