Description
"Jack, Jack, The Spring-Heeled Jack
Get to sleep, or to you he'll creep
First child to hit the sack, gets a golden rabbit from Jack
Second to bed, and Jack will ignore your head
But, the last one to bed...
Jack's claws will turn you blood-red,
Limb from limb you'll be shred
Leap!
Leap!
Are you not fast asleep?
If not, Slash!
Trash!
He'll eat you up in a flash!"
Alright, it's story time. You guys might already know about Jack the Ripper, but do you know about Spring-Heeled Jack? Spring-Heeled Jack was a famous entity in the folklore of people in Victorian era, his first sighting was in 1837, 51 years before the incident of Jack the Ripper. Later sightings were reported all over Great Britain and were especially prevalent in suburban London, Midlands and Scotland.
Some people who claimed to have seen him as having a terrifying and frightful appearance, with diabolical physiognomy, clawed hands and eyes "that resembled red balls of fire". One report claimed that, beneath a black cloak, he wore a helmet and a tight-fitting garment like an oilskin (material used for a rain coat). Many stories also mention a "Devil-like" aspect. Others said he was tall and thin, with the appearance of a gentleman. Several reports mention that he could breathe out blue and white flames and that he wore sharp metallic claws at his fingertips. At least two people claimed that he was able to speak comprehensible English.
Spring-Heeled Jack's favorite victims are women, since he didn't just scare them but sometimes harassing them
This time, I drew my OC, Lionel Montoya, as Spring-Heeled Jack due to the resemblance of their physical appearance. And both are having a penchant for pulling (terrible) pranks on people. Lionel himself splurged all of his salaries this month to build himself an authentic Spring-Heeled Jack costume with a touch of his own style. He planned to pull a prank on everyone since this is the best season to do such things, but don't worry, he doesn't have any interest in harassing women. So far, some people are mistaking him cosplaying either Batman or Ghost Rider for Halloween, Lionel called them "uncultured swine" for not knowing a famous figure like Spring-Heeled Jack. Also, this Halloween he tries his best to avoid Apsara since Apsara might lectures him if she knows he spends all his salaries this month for just a halloween costumes. Now, say hi to Spring-Heeled Lionel...I mean, Jack.
In the end, I believe the figure of Spring-Heeled Jack isn't a demonic entity but just a prank made by a certain Irish noble who had too much free time and money on his hand.
