I'm confused...it's classified "traditional art/paintings" but is this not digital ?

It's both! But of the two, i spend more time on the traditional aspect, so that's what I classify it as. I draw the portrait in pencil first, shade it and everything, and then on a separate piece of paper i lay down the watercolor. I scan both and then layer the two in photoshop, and tweak any off colors, clean up messy edges, and add highlights/deepen shadows if they need it.
