Description I finally finished the first mech model for our mod. This is the Crusader, a mech you wouldnt want to meet down a dark alley
Polycount is only a fraction above 6000, the cockpit will be built seperately. Hope y'all like it
The original drawing can be found here at the mech club.
Oh, and if anyone is interrested in texturing this....you can be my guest cause my texturing sux >_<

couple things that seem off. one is that the upper leg is too slim and doesn't seem strong enough to support the weight. another is the poly count. most games allow up to 8000 polys but you dont want to use it all if you dont have to. much of it can be accomplished with normal mapping. usually you build two models. one is a high poly for rendering texture maps. the other is the lower poly ingame mesh.

nice mech model. Reminds me of when I used to play Mech2 ages ago... Don't think you could fit in an a 'dark alley' though. More it would step on the alley before you had a chance to think 'WTF?!?!'

Peachy work here! Despite my love of all things cyberpunk, I have a hard time drawing robotics and big ass mechs. So mad props! It's totally respectable. Esspecially 3d design!

Decent overall, but you really wasted a lot of polygons on the cannon holes (use a texture and bump/normal map for them, they're black) and the tiny cubes at the top of the cockpit area especially...you don't need those, get rid of 'em and fake the detail like all low poly modelers.

I like the overall look, but you used way, way too many polygons on it. This should be around maybe 3000 triangles.

thnx, its very easy, just need a base design and off you go, doesnt have to be complex, you can always add more detail later
