You know, I enjoyed the idea of creating more Teen Titans valkyries, as I did here for the Titans of Myth contest at club.

When I was doing Shimmer, I wanted two things:
1- Make her recognizable. She's Mammoth's sister, so I wanted to people to look at her and think "She's familiar, somehow. Here I have seem this face?", so I did her facial features and color theme similar to Mammoth, but still feminine
2- I also wanted to do her strange-looking. And I don't mean 'strange but cute', 'strange and ugly' or 'exotic', but really strange, but not that ugly. I think I got what I want

I made her skinny to contrast with Mammoth. I mean, look at Mammoth! He's gargantuan! I think it would be fun to make Shimmer smaller and skinny.

You know, I was thinking.... If Jinx, Gizmo and Mammoth were the HIVE top students and they are defeated every time, can you imagine how bad and incompetent the other students are?
