Event 6: Seeds of a New Beginning

Team Epsilon

Event 6.2 "Humility" Part 1 of 6

~

"Hey! Chryss! Did you hear about the kidnapping!?"

Chryss sighed. She had just woken up and decided to get acquainted with the other mons in town, but she really just didn't want to see the little lizard again. Though, she really shouldn't be feeling that way, and she knew it. After all, he did treat her to dinner last night. Pretty awkward night though, since Artemis did nothing but stare at the flirty Axew. He had given her a rose beforehand, claiming that the colors represented "purity and friendship," and so by handing her the rose, all he wanted was a "pure friendship" between the two. And Chryss had always believed in second chances.

He finally caught up with her, panting a bit from having to run all the way across town. She was kind of irritated that he interrupted her while she was having a fine conversation with another Rescue Team that consisted of a Vulpix, Eevee, and a Zorua. She apologized for her "friend" before bidding the team farewell, then turned to Lelouch. "I'm sorry, I couldn't quite hear you from so far away, what did you say?" She asked. It wasn't that she couldn't hear, she just wasn't paying any attention.

Lelouch seemed frightened, but his blind fluffy puppy friend shook his head, probably sharing Chryss's thoughts that this boy is just a drama queen. "Someone kidnapped Jasmine!" He exclaimed. "Weren't you at the meeting this morning!? Everyone was all gathered around, PK was on Iceburg's back..?" He questioned, hoping to ring a bell.

"Bro, I was asleep all morning." She laughed, not really understanding a thing he just said. "But what's this about someone getting kidnapped?" It was the only part she really decided to listen to.

"Jasmine! You know, the Celebi!" He fluttered his claws next to his shoulders in a terrible attempt to mimic Jasmine's wings. Probably.

There was that name again, Celebi. Jasmine the Celebi. Jasmine... Jasmine... Wasn't that... the bossy fairy girl from the other day? But a Celebi, Chryss remembered researching, was an extremely rare sight, only appearing itself to those of pure heart or some stupid crap like that. She looked up and noticed a bunch of teams preparing themselves and marching towards the forest. A different forest. Too many forests, she didn't care to pay attention.

"So, I guess I'm supposed to be meeting up with the other teams to rescue her, right?" She clarified. "Where exactly am I supposed to go? And what do I do when I get there?" She folded her arms, not out of impatience or frustration, but simply to do something with her hands.

"Well, PK is ordering the Rogues around for some reason, but I snuck off to come find you because I didn't see you at the meeting. I assume that you would follow Mike into Illusory Forest, surround the heart of the forest where Jasmine is presumably being held captive, then wait for PK's signal." He explained.

Mike. Dammit. That Charmander. She really didn't want to be real close to him, fearing her reaction might be worst the next time around. Through general conversation, she figured out that PK is the little purple lizard (who, well, really isn't that little, being taller than Chryss) that has the building made in her likeness. She's sort of the "boss" around the village, Chryss decided, since everyone seemed to be taking orders from her.

"So how do we know where we're going, and ya know, don't get lost in the woods?" She pondered.

"A little Zorua is going to be guiding us. I think she said it was her mom that had Jasmine captive, but I don't really remember. She knows the woods well, so straying too far off her path could result in getting lost in the woods for hours. Days, even." He explained, holding his chin in his claws the whole time.

"Alright, well I wouldn't wanna be late to this party." She replied as she began strutting towards the crowd. Lelouch shivered when he noticed Artemis, still latched onto Chryss's back, was still staring at him.

~

She didn't really see what the big deal was about these woods. Besides the fact that everything was, you know, not broken. Damaged from what looks like a recent disaster, maybe a drought or something, but not broken. A bunch of teams were all gathered around, some following the leaders into the woods, some goofing off without a care in the world. Chryss found it difficult to tell where the path was that everyone else was going down, being so far behind. She looked around for another Rescue Team that could possibly point her in the right direction, despite taking a hit to her pride.

"I think we should go this way!" Lelouch commented, pointing towards some Pokemon. "No, no wait, this way!" He turned, looking towards some other Pokemon. His mute partner simply shook his head in despair. Chryss appreciated his help, but she really needed to find someone who would be good at navigating through the woods. Like cat pokemon or a canine of some sort or even...

"I'm telling you, I'm not kidding! There really are some people who say 'both' like 'bolth,' like with an L in there!" A tall Buizel was explaining to a not-so-creepy Treecko.

"I think you're just making that up. No one's stupid enough to say 'bolth.'" The Treecko snickered.

"Arceus, you're so stubborn." He snarled. "I wouldn't tell you that if it weren't true, you know."

"Is this just like the 'walrus' issue?" The Treecko grinned. "Seriously, the only Pokemon I've ever seen with tusks is a Donphan. You're just making that up." It was obvious he was just giving his partner a hard time for the shits and giggles. It reminded Chryss of herself.

"I can't with you. I just can't. I've lost the ability to can." The orange weasel facepalmed, before looking up and noticing Chryss and her... really creepy Treecko friend.

"Oh, hey! Sorry, I couldn't help but overhear your conversation." Chryss laughed while greeting the two. If it were only her, the two may have been more polite. But with Artemis...

"Oh, um, hey." The Buizel replied, a little stunned. He looked like he was about to say more, but didn't.

"Well, I only recently got here and have absolutely no idea what I'm doing." Chryss reluctantly admitted. "Would you mind helping me out a bit?"

"Yeah, sure, I guess..." The water weasel was distracted by Artemis. It didn't really seem like he was paying much attention to what she was actually saying. This annoyed her.

"...Well, my name's Chrysstal, but you can just call me Chryss, and this is my buddy Artemis." She only now realized that they may have been Unnerved by Artemis being his creepy little self. "Sorry about him, he's... well he's a quirk. He can't help it." She shrugged.

"Oh, hi." The Buizel said, shaking himself to pay attention. "My name's Roberto, and-"

"And I'm Harrison, I don't need anyone to talk for me." The Treecko glared at his partner. All he got in reply was a "whatever." "So you really don't know what you're doing?" Harrison questioned, a bit skeptical.

"All I know is the big bad wolf took a talking onion and if we don't save her something bad is gonna happen blah blah blah." She lazily explained.

"Well, that's pretty much the gist of the situation," Roberto confirmed. "We just got to stay on the path or else we'l-"

"CHRYYYYYSSSSS!!!" A shouting came from behind the group. It was Lelouch, of course, looking as if he had seen a ghost. He stopped when he noticed she was talking to other... males. "Who are these two?" He inquired.

"Peeps I just met. What are you all screaming bloody murder about?" She interrogated.

"Well I just don't..." He paused, deciding not to show concern. She was allowed to talk to whoever she wanted to, after all. "I thought I saw a huge ice bird in the woods a second ago. Looks like it's gone though..." He explained.

"You're just makin' that up." Chryss replied, mimicing the conversation the two in front of her just had.

for me it's a lack of tech. no tablet, no knoledge of how to work things like photoshop...so i find a good old pencil and paper the best medium for me...tho painting's fun it's realy hard to do right.

well, my friend gave me her old tablet and bootlegged sai to me, and sai is like the worst when it comes to artist spoilage. but i do agree, pencil and paper just feels more natural to me, and in my opinion it always looks better too.

Apothocareon In reply to UltimateSassMaster [2012-08-31 04:35:36 +0000 UTC]

no...the electrodes don't even have to be that strong...and i've been electicuted several times by much stronger force than those fish are...drop a batary in the water and the same result.

true..but they are big fish...like a foot long or so. and thick it's not even as strong a charge as the weakest charge on a shock collar.
