I LOVE HIM!!!! can you tell?Um, all the other pictures I uploaded today were uploaded because of this. I usually don't upload anything until I have something worthy and then all the other crap just gets complied with it. I like the other kyo picture too but it was mainly this one.
It took forever for one thing, and you'd think most of that was on the tattoo but no surprisingly. His torso took forever.

also, the picture reference I was using cut off at his studded belt but after I shaded it it looked really weird cut off like that so I attempted to add a hand and some pseudo-legs. But they're not real.
pencil and I took out the paperery background in photoshop cause it looked like shit. I normally play with levels and contrast to get the background white but with this picture there was too much pencil detail to do that so I don't know. Tell me what you think. (and listen to Dir en grey *subliminal messaging*)

I love this picture soooo much!
Cool idea to leave the hair and pants the way you did. It really lifted the shading and made the rest of the picture stand out in a great way.

Oh yeah, and I need a critique don't I?
The one problem is, it looks like there are scratches on his stomach (looong fingernails 0_0) but the way the blood runs makes it look like his skin 'wrinkles,' sort of like cloth. And Kyo is not really a wrinkly person >w<
Actually, looking at it again, it looks fine... now I'm a bit confused as to the quality of my eyesight.
And I love the detail on his face, tattoos, and belt!

hahah thanks yeah i was kind of worried about his stomach, in the picture he's bent inward a bit which "wrinkles"/folds his stomach muscles a bit.

i think it is nice. the hand at his leg is kinda odd to me and his face seems a little dark around the mouth. is it blood? did be vomit?
i feel there might be too much going on but that is just me.
as for what i like the most. it has to be the metal.

ya, the his left hand IS weird, but that's cause it's fake. the reference picture I was using cut off at his belt so his hand wasn't in the picture, but when I drew it like that it looked funny :/ so I drew in a pseudo hand....or tried anyway. Yeah.
it is blood by his mouth and nose that's why it's so dark and same on his stomach

God, I am going to practice Kyo until my hand falls off, that way I can sketch him like you do. I just recently made the transition from Anime to real life people, and I taught myself, so it's been tough...but this is awesome!!!

Hey don't get discouraged though! Keep at it, the more you draw real people the better you get at them!
Just like with anime, the more you do it. I'm acutally kind of your opposite haha, I've never been able to draw anime but have always wanted to. I only draw real people so capturing the stylistic properties of anime is really been hard for me :/

Hahah, it's lucky that it's even shaded, I don't normally shade things, I tend to lean more to line art cause I loves it. I am working on a color kyo piece right now though that I'll have up soon *hopes* haha if you were to see my whole gallery you'd know how shocking the sight of color is hahaha thanks much!
which side are you talking about? his thumb? maybe, it might just look big cause it's jutted out a bit which pushes it more towards the viewer and forshortens it a little, I don't know though. I could just be being delusional haha
