Ula, how do you do the background?
Is it your creation or an adaptation from a pcture or something?

It's mine, simple gradient with some brush strokes -airbrush, hard brush, smudging, particles brush for the snow (immortal Adonihs brush pack My Brush Pack ). I do often look at refs of both real & painted skies though, especially when there's a lot of sky going on in my picture and can't recommend it enough.
Nothing wrong with throwing a stock picture in there too and adjusting/painting over it, especially when you're just starting with backgrounds and don't know where to start. I still do that sometimes for colourings. It may give you some cool ideas you wouldn't think about otherwise and soothe that fear of blank canvas

And yes, painting is more fun, bur the last thing i added as BG ended up looking so childish I still hate myself lol
