Toby and I wanted to celebrate and inspire all the dog lovers out there! Don't forget to love your dog/s everyday, they're precious and lovable! If you dont have one of your own, that's okay too, hopefully you can be inspired to adopt and have a doggo of your own one day. Please be sure to adopt, give a sheltered dog another chance at life and to be loved.
Both of my dogs are adopted and they're wonderful silly derps.
Enjoy the drawing, here's us (Toby and I) as cute snuggling doggos! Happy dog day!!!

Dogs really are great, we are all blessed to have them in our lives in some form or way, I agree whole heartily on them being soulmates in a way. There is/was a dog that will never leave you even after they're "physically gone."

I'm very happy you found that it was dog day this year and not previous years! It wouldn't have been nearly as meaningful if you had discovered dog day in past years. And it's the day before my birthday, so that is nice, it helps add meaning/layer to it, and take the spot light more away from parts that don't want it and onto parts that do!
Regardless, I can use this opportunity to say how much I value your attitude towards puppos in general, having adapted 2 yourself. The perfect person for me is going to love/value/cherish animals, and our dogs are very deserving of that. And they really do bring out the best in people, which itself is enough reason to love dogs. It's just nice to have another thing in common, love for the canines!
Wonderful drawing as always my other, the anatomy and poses are spot on, the dog designs are recognizable, and the lighting and scenery are very warm and inviting. And you did this so quickly and out of nowhere, right when you were needing some extra help focusing your drawing inspiration. It came alright! Looks great as always. And of course including Toby the owl just makes for another whole layer of squish and meaning and coziness hehe. I love the breeds you picked for us!!

IKR!? The year before I found out there was a birb day, now this year I find out there's a dog day.
It's year of our/the canines fur sure and it's so fruitful to get back in touch with an old passion of mine related to the animal. Not only that, but I get to share/grow/heal that part with you too! I'm really glad you have accepted this layer, while everyday is a dog/birb/birthday between us, it doesn't hurt to add more layers to the actual 'date'. It's always a great thing to hear that even something like this can help balance you out inwardly.
I'm so humbled you value my care and love for doggos, they really are life changing and as wonderful as the memez and dog lover/owners gush and speak about. Love for all the canines, haha you're so cute! With that hahaha!

I'm very surprised as well, it just goes to show the difference you make when you hype and inspire me. I'm so glad you approve of the doggo breeds, they just felt 'right' and you're so adorable and loving no matter what form you take, and I'm all the more honored to know another form of you to share and be with. Even the birb/owl Toby can squish and be a part of the bundle of love, the more of us the merrier! It felt great to do something on time and involving in multiple parts of us.

Hyenas are actually their own unique species, Hyaenidae. However they are more closer to felines than canines!
