yeah ive heard that camera is good. ive only just started doind photography i got a nikkon D40 last yeah which me am still learning with. i want to attempt doing some animal photography any tips u can give? u really are very good at what u do.

Thanks - though much of it is luck; i'm a veterinary student and so often find myself very close indeed to animals of all sorts
the biggest tip for animal/wildlife photography is get a powerful zoom lens! you simply cannot get close enough to wildlife to get the shots you want otherwise. I would say absolutely essential is up to 300mm lens (at least 200mm). I use a Sigma 70-300mm on my Canon EOS, and I know Sigma make an equivalent lens for Nikon D40. They cost about £100, but compared to the Nikon equivalent (£480) that's nothing! well worth it.
