This is a wonderful and unsual look at merpeople. I love the fish-like features throughout the creature, and prefer it to the split-down-the-middle mermaid. Gorgeous.

Sometime I paint in grey scale first to get my values clear.. then I do a quick color pass also, then I have the two images open so I can use it for reference when I do the final image... so I keep clear with what I am going for.
