Takin's are cloven-hoofed, and they're from Goat-antelope subfamily. So no, they and horses are in different orders.

It didn't seem likely that they were related to horses.

I had never even heard of a takin before
And I THINK they're somehow related to horses? I didn't read the sign for it, but that's what I heard some other people say after reading it.
