Appearance:
* Stands at 6'4" and weighs about 200lbs [90kg]
* Has several scars on his body, one visible one is across the bridge of his nose, the rest are on his back. All of them are horizontal scars.
* Has short hair, which he usually sort of covers with a skull cap. Also keeps a goatee.
* Quite muscular, though he seems to have been slacking off lately and so his muscles are a little less defined.
* Usually dresses like he does in the above pic, though he'd be wearing a white, long-sleeved turtleneck shirt under the jacket(which he would be wearing properly) and usually has a pair of gloves/mittens sticking out of his pocket for when it gets especially cold. Much of his wardrobe has varying shades of blues and whites with the occasional black.
* Wears a diamond-shaped earring on his left ear. Appears to be part of a pair, but it seems he lost the right one somehow. [In his pokemon form, the diamond-shaped thing on the right side of his head is missing.]
* Looks unfriendly and difficult to approach, but he's actually pretty friendly.
Personals
Personality:
Brett is a quiet, laid-back kind of guy. He takes most things in stride, usually able to think things through rationally with a cool head and often doesn't have much to say. He keeps to himself most of the time, giving him a lone wolf kind of air, but the guy does enjoy company. He's just not sure people would enjoy his company. He listens more than he talks (though when he does have something to talk about, he has plenty to say--) and if he does have friends, he tends to be very protective of them. Doesn't think very highly of himself. When angered, Brett has the tendency to just seethe in a corner till he cools off (at which time he won't be speaking for a while), but can and will get physical if his friends or family gets hurt.
History:
Brett, like many pokemon he studied later on in life, was bred for competitive battles. He was told he'd be a good wall (he wondered if that was a pun...) and that he had brilliant potential for the role. Not that it mattered much to him when he was a Bergmite. All he knew was that his trainer liked him. Much of his younger days had him training. While it was tiring, he did enjoy the praise he got, enjoyed the victories he brought about and above all, enjoyed travelling with his trainer.
Sure, he got benched every now and then thanks to his being painfully slow, but when he wasn't battling, Brett had more time to take in the sights, and watch his trainer grow like his trainer did him. His trainer had seen him evolve from a tough little Bergmite to a hulk of an Avalugg, powerful but slow and every bit a fierce fighter with a gentle disposition.
Brett saw his trainer try his best to keep everyone in the team well-fed and well taken care of. Tried to keep everyone happy. And it wasn't just his pokemon that he cared about, his trainer had friends whom he travelled with, competed with, and eventually... Brett watched his trainer fall in love. Eventually his trainer got married and had children. Brett hadn't realized how long he'd been with his trainer until he saw how old the human looked. Old, but happy. Happy despite not achieving many of his goals.
It wasn't long after that that his trainer sat down with his pokemon and had a long conversation with them. It was a conversation Brett saw coming, to be honest. The pokemon he sat with that night... Not all of them were the ones his trainers started out with. Some of them were lost to fierce battles with wild pokemon, others to illnesses... His trainer had told them that he was getting too old to care for all of them, too old to play or train them and that all he had been doing was keep them in their pokeballs with little freedom. His trainer apologized to them for that, for having such little time to be with them thanks to his long hours at work.
They all understood.
Because of his inability to be a good trainer to them, his trainer decided that it was best if they parted ways. He told them not to worry, though. Not all of them may remember how to survive in the wild by themselves, but they would still have each other. Above all, they would still know where he lived if they ever wanted to visit. It was a tearful goodbye when their trainer released them in the Wayward Woods in Snowbelle. Their trainer had heard of the Pokemon Village past the Woods, but had never found it for himself. While it was irresponsible of him, his pokemon understood. They were sure they'd be able to find it, and after plenty of wandering around, they found it.
For a while, living in Pokemon Village wasn't so bad. The pokemon there were nice, there was no fear of going hungry, and everyone looked out for each other. Brett missed his trainer though. But travelling as an Avalugg was difficult, and it would take him forever to reach his trainer's house at his speed. Through the grapevines he heard talk of something called a Dittech. It was supposed to be able to give pokemon a human form...
So he got himself one, and made his way back to Snowbelle. It was difficult to admit, but he found himself more comfortable in the company of humans than it was with fellow pokemon. Probably because of how he grew up. Whatever it was, he now had a life for himself. The Dittech allowed him to visit his trainer every now and again in Anistar Town(he'd be careful to switch off his Dittech when he does...), and while he was at it, Brett decided to rent himself a house in Snowbelle and work as a tour guide for people who want to challenge the Wayward Woods without the fear of getting lost. The Pokemon Village was off-limits, of course.
Extras:
* When he isn't working as a tour guide, Brett works odd jobs. Sometimes he's shovelling sidewalks for people, other times he's back at the Pokemon Village carting things around for people or generally being an iceberg table for the day.
*Brett spends much of his time in human form, and in this form, can usually be found in the house he rents in Snowbelle. In Pokemon form, he may be found either in the Wandering Woods, Pokemon Village or the Frost Cavern. (If you found him in Frost Cavern, chances are he's stressed out and needs some alone time, since he took the trouble of hiking all the way to Dendemille to get there--)
*Occasionally he'd go to Santalune through Routes 21 and 22 for a change of scenery, sometimes he'd go straight on to Lumiose to go sight-seeing.

Roleplay example:
Another snowy day in Snowbelle, and from the looks of things, his schedule was free for the day. Brett stirred his coffee absently as he watched the snow fall through his window and stifled a yawn. Let's see... There was still some food in the fridge, he still had some coffee and tea left... Might need some new clothes sometime soon and good god how was he going to hang up his laundry in this weather. Sighing, Brett put his spoon down. If the snow continued on coming down like this, he might be able to get some money shovelling them off the sidewalks again. The Avalugg-turned-human lay his head on his table, careful to not headbutt his mug of hot coffee and scratched the back of his head. Work opportunity was there but he was feeling so lazy...
