aka, The Riddler.

I took forever to color this, and yet I think there are still some mistakes in there. I'm also not crazy about the background I went for, but it looks somewhat better than plain ol' white.

I'm on another Batman kick, and this time my villain of choice is The Riddler, who has always been my very favorite of Batman baddies. I love smart-scary, mostly sane and very dangerous.

I'm playing around with the Riddler design sortof from Gotham Knights, sortof from the Hush arc, and sortof how I like to imagine The Riddler, which is vaguely David Tennant (try and tell me he wouldn't be an excellent Riddler. You know he would). I also am liking the idea of oversized collars and cuffs for him. I didn't go with the cuffs here (on the shirt sleeve), but I think they'd be fun and different. And the Question Mark motif, of course. I'm thinking on the corners of collars (Doctor Who style), cuff links, the whole she-bang. I would never mess with the Riddler's purple-green-black color scheme either. Those colors are so Batman. I love 'em.

I'm also playing around with a Riddler with some damage, some history, some scars. He's fancy and intellectual, wears suits and gloves, but he's still had his run-ins with the Bats and real baddies of the world. I'm in love with drawing scars lately, and while he's not heavy on them, I can't imagine anyone going through Gotham, getting beat to hell by Batman, and not coming out with a few thin, pale patches of skin.
