Description Some drawings of what I've imagined money in the PokΓ©mon world to look like.
Foreign currency looks so much cooler than boring ol' dollar bills.

See if you can recognize all the obscure references!

I'd imagine all regions use the same cash...

We kinda figured it'd be like the Euro. Different regions, all interchangeable.

Okay, Nintendo needs to use these. THIS is what Pokemon money should look like! AWESOME!!

Isn't it strange how you never actually see anyone spending money, and the most you see is generic gold coins in some of Jessie and James' daydreams?

Very strange! I noticed that, too!
In the new(-ish) Platinum DS game, the Coin Toss application for the Poketch features a coin with a Magikarp on it. Is that where you got your inspiration?

Actually, I just collect coins and paper money in real life, which is what I take inspiration from here. Money has always fascinated me as an artist- not for their financial value, but for their aesthetic value.
Also, I drew these before those games existed.

My sister collects money for the same reason. Her twin's godfather travels the world, and he brings her a bit of foreign currency for her collection now and then. Me, I just collect USA quarters because my grandfather helped me before he died, and I couldn't bear to leave our collection unfinished...
Sorry, anyway, I guess they had the same idea as they did, then! Great work!

I'm doing something similar- my great-grandfather, who's dead now, gave us these coffee cans full of pennies. The pennies got stolen one day, and so we put almost all our pennies in those coffee cans to restore the collection. They're not older pennies like his were (and if I find any, I keep them separate), but they'll be old someday.
My favorites are outdated American coins. The best ones, unfortunately, are terribly expensive. I do have a few made out of silver, though!
One of my favorites is one that came from a sunken ship centuries ago.

That's awesome that you're honoring your great-grandfather like that!

I didn't know him very well, actually. But hey, it was a gift, so I figured I'd make up for it being stolen...

Oh, well...it's rather noble of you to find a way to replace his treasures, then!
