Doorways are never friendly to anyone cosplaying a Nitram.

Insulation foam and lacquer? Any reinforcements?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
TwoToned-Jester In reply to xgreenling [2011-11-22 05:24:51 +0000 UTC]
Syrofoam, model magic cover, wall spackling to fill in the cracks, modge podge, gesso, paint, and then modge podge once again. Reinforced at the tips with fishing wire between them to keep them steady. Heavily bonded to the headpiece with multiple adhesives and nails.

the forums are a melting pot of homestuck memes.... i like to lurk the Art forums more then anything, they have a pretty cool group of Cosplayers and several Meet-up threads.

Oh my cod that is amazing~! I just love those horns~! Mind if I ask what materials you used? I'm planning on making Eridan's horns at some point~ ^^

why thank you! I'm a firm believer in using a styrofoam base to give horns their shape (I used to use wire and clay, but after using foam for my Gamzee, Summoner, and Highblood horns I'm hooked) and then covering them with model magic to make them look nice. Carve and sand the foam into the general shape of the horns, then cover them with model magic and let that dry. Sand them again and use wall spackling to fill in any cracks, then cover them with modge podge, white gesso, your yellow/orange/red paint, and then modge podge again! Happy horn making!

Here's hoping you've very short, those are made of rubberized material, or you have an escape plan. Otherwise? You'll be hurting people, yourself, and poor poor doorframes.

Actually, I only hit two things the entire day, and that was way early on when I didn't have any spacial awareness. They were actually pretty easy to move in.
