I was quite pleased with how this one turned out. The wings were an experiment, and I think they came out pretty well. I blocked them out with solid lines and then deleted everything underneath. It took a while to get her pose and expression right. I originally was going to make her sad, but in the end I decided to try and pull off both a little sad and a little happy at the same time. The background was kinda lazy. I was originally planning on clouds, but the wings didn't show up.Some people have asked why I didn't make Laura younger, but I actually made a conscious decision to keep her aged. I figure, this is how Laura viewed herself, and that's how she appears. Her age is just a part of her character at this point and I didn't feel any reason to take it away.

She kinda reminds me of aerith from ff7 in her character and appearance. I noticed after studying her hairstyle closely.

The story of Laura and Keith really got me when I was reading that part... and now I stumbled across this picture...
I can't imagine how that would feel after such an experience. I feel fortunate that I have not.

I think this was the only comic I have ever read that made me cry when a character dies, literally I had tears streaming down my face at her death. You are really good at conveying emotions.

Ok, I have a theory:
Trace may have the ability to bring her back somehow, I'm not sure how, I'm not sure when, but I'm sure it can happen. So far, from what I've read (though I may be wrong) Trace is one of the only people to survive attempting to raise the dead. He was fond in the forest, half dead (although I'm the half alive kinda guy) thus driving him into madness by the dark energy. What if this was only to represent that dead can't be revived. Well, there's where loopholes come in, flora is pregnant with trace, right? Humans shouldn't be able to have children with kedrin, unless the gods allow it and guess what, trace as shown himself to pull flora out of the grasp of a gods hold, so maybe he could do the same for laura, since he had to reach floras soul. And remember how Nora said that there was no survivable spell to revive the dead? Well think of the last time you heard that or ranging like that, then ask yourself, "did it happen?" Ie: harry potter, resurrection stone. And I understand that this has nothing to do with the outcome, but it IS a possibility.. I heard from mark (markiplier on YouTube, his little brother, him without, I wouldn't have discovered this comic) that he was good at what he does, and I believe he'll make the right choice, I would love to see laura come back. She reminds me of somebody close to me. But I won't argue with the authors choice. It is his comic after all. And I know that it would render her sacrifice worthless, but what if it cost something special to all of them, m not sure what that would be though. Any support would help me out though, whether its a video posted to my YouTube wall, or commented here, I'm just trying to get this off my chest, I started reading this a couple of days ago, on the day of my great uncle funeral, somebody I was really close to. So I have guilt about it. But anything you want to add, just post it, I really want some hope for this :"{|

Nora said that there was no spell that could bring back the dead, it killed its user before it was complete, this is why I actually believe shell return, that or another character dies and returns, because I understand the whole siria was a major part of his life, and that's why he went insane, but think about it, whens the last time you heard that (or something similar) that it hasn't done happened, is: harry potter, no way to bring back the dead-ressurection stone, touchback, told he can't change the past, attempts suicide, back before he was crippled to change it. I now that there are flaws in this, but this may have a major impact in the future of the series itself, as in flora dying in child birth, or something like that. Flora wasn't supposed to be able to get pregnant, but the gods allowed it, shown in the series with the sentence "kendrin blood must continue" well, something along the lines of that, so couldn't there be an exception here? And she could also be a side character, and could run into Raine and them. Well is just a theory, I was hoping people could add to it and make me feel a little more secure, I just read it a couple days ago, started the same day as my great uncles funeral, so im not having the easiest time coping with death right now. Hope I at least entertained you with a theory, though its probably just more bullcrap from me and I'm losing it. As if I weren't insane enough already.

Laura should remain gone because the significant of her sacrifice would be lost if she came back. She left so Keith could move on... he should now be able to now. Not that we should forget her. She was my absolute favourite... a truly brave individual who gave everything to save those she cared about

I bet she would smile like that if she saw Keith and Natani as a couple (from heaven, I mean). A little sad, because it reminds her of the life with Keith she never had, but happy too. Because seeing Keith happy again is all she could ever want.
