perhaps, but personally, I think despite that, she's got two fallen sirens under her wing (or fin/wing thing?) who wouldn't know diddly squat what to do without her, especially without their gems. And even if it seems that they hate each others guts on the outside, being a trio many a millenia, pretty sure they care about each other deep down. So I'm imagining this sorry is more for them.

And then the realization hitting her one day that "forced adoration isn't really adoration, is it?" Then throw in an experience of someone genuinely enjoying her company or caring about her well-being (Shimmer, in my mind, heh). Things like this can go along way toward waking someone up out of old mindsets.
