That awkward moment when you realize that shooting plant juice into your arm wasn't such a smart idea.-------
Emotion practice.
A random sketch I really liked and decided to add color and a little bit of shading to. Bushroot makes the best "Oh, crap" faces.
Before anything asks why the only Darkwing Duck character I draw is Bushroot, I promise you, I will draw the other members of the cast soon (mostly Megavolt, Quackerjack, and maybe the odd Stegmutt and Dr. Fossil just because those two get neglected). It's just that this character used to be my childhood hero (just look at my gallery; all of my fanart is neglected nerdy types and Bushroot's the cause) and it tickles me that I can actually draw him in a way that's recognizable after all of these years.
I don't know why I like drawing Bushroot in his "oh god, I turned into a hideous freak!" state of mind he was in Beauty and the Beet as opposed to how he is in the rest of the show. I guess it's because I love drawing freaked out faces and this face was seriously giving me the giggles. Oh, Bushroot. Your sheer ineptitude is downright charming.
This picture isn't as polished as my other Bushroot pictures I've done, because the picture was a sketch I did while I was pretty much looking just like poor Reggie here while sorting things out with my financial aide and my classes.
I'll draw something less sketchy soon. And I promise the next Bushroot picture will be a happy Bushroot. I can draw him in a normal state of mind, honest. XD

Bushroot's one of my favourite characters on the show, especially when he isn't really a real villain.
Funny though. I used to hate him for sometimes acting like a jerk with his powers. And I thought him extremely annoying as well. Then came the Christmas episode...
He wasn't even trying to hurt anyone, and the citizens started attacking him for no reason. Made me grow really sympathetic towards him.

I like to imagine Bushroot kind of grossed out by his own, plant-like body at times, despite how relatively easygoing the dude is in his later villain episodes.
I mean, I would be too if my hands were actual leaves.

He's a very easy character to draw angsty--nearly all of Bushroot's episodes have angsty moments--the poor guy's usually more depressed than angry if you ask me.

He gets fired, turned into a mutant, and mowed down by a lawnmower within 24 hours. All things considered, he took everything rather well. (even if he did a little murdering and kidnapping on the side)
I feel bad drawing Bushroot suffering, but then at the same time, it's so much fun to draw him all bummed out and I don't know why. I guess every Bushroot fan just can't resist the urge to draw Bushroot angst. Me included.

Bushroot's worst enemy is a keyboard. ASDF JKL; position doesn't help if you have no fingers, so he's forced to hunt and peck when it comes to computers.

In Bushroot's defense, he really was overdressed when he was normal. He was wearing pants in a society that, for the most part, only wears clothes on the top. Gosalyn, a minor, has no pants after all.
