"Digitech realized that he had created a truely evil and devious A.I. when his robot used a thermonuclear device to cheat at chess."The completed piece for 's commission, my first ever! Yay!
I went based on the information, "Digitech is something of a loner, so I'm picturing something with him and one of his bots in a situation that two people would normally be in. Like he's socializing with the bot. The first thing that came to mind was him and the bot playing chess...", and took it from there.
This was probably the most complicated piece I done, 4 separate pencil drawings scanned in, combined together, then inked and colored in Photoshop. A lot of complications came up while making this, but I'm really happy with the way it turned out.

This is great, I really love it. You've captured perfectly the interaction between Digitech and his droid that I was hoping for, and all the little extras around the park are just priceless. Thanks for all the effort you put into this, I'm definitely a happy customer!

I was going to have some COT mages playing volleyball, but I couldn't figure out where to place it in the picture without making it look too cluttered....

I think my favorite part of this is the Banish Pantheon zombie flying a kite made of flesh and bones.

That was a little bit of inspiration. When we settled on the chess scene, I wanted to place the picture in a park, so I could have stuff going on in the background, and one of the things that immediately came to mind was to have a storm controller flying a kite. When I went to sketch it out, the original pencils looked more like a zombie than a hero, then the idea of the flesh kite hit me, and it just went downhill from there....
