Description Just a moment ago I stumbled to this fella in our garden. At first I was like "oh my god have you fell off from your nest? D:" but on a second though, the nest sounded quite quiet... so I wonder if this little guy was supposed to be able to fly o,o'It didn't look like it, although its wings looked somewhat capable.

Whatever the truth, I hope the gang of magpies that have left their nest just a couple of days ago won't enjoy the little great tit as an easy meal. Because they have been hanging around in our garden since the day before yesterday.

And I SERIOUSLY need the tele lens! D:
I was fearing the little bird will die of heart attack since I needed to crawl so near to it.

Meilläkin on pensaat täynnä tiaispoikasia parhaillaan. Ihanaa piipitystä... Mutta juu, joukossa on usein joku tällainen pikkuinen, jolla on vielä ihan onnettomat siipi- ja pyrstösulat, eikä lentäminen suju kauhean hyvin. Niitä käy aina sääliksi. Etenkin juuri, jos lähettyvillä on esim. harakoita.

Looks like they've fledged and left the nest. Usually, once they do that, they'll hang around the nest for a few days before they start to move around lots. At this time in the year they'll leave the nest, though I don't know if that's later in Finland because you're at a higher latitude than me.

Still, here's to hoping those magpies don't try to eat it. I stepped out one day to have a magpie fly past me with an egg in it's beak, and a very angry blackbird chasing it.

I've managed to buy myself a 70-300mm lens. Trust me, you'll love it when you have it. What focal length did you take this at?

They probably have. Great tits in my grandma's garden left their nest couple of days ago too. I would have somehow waited for them to stay still a week.

Ah, you have gotten yourself such a nice lens. I know I will love it when I get my own, since I've been able to borrow school's lenses, they were up to 250mm. But for now, I have zero money to put in a lens. :/
I have only my kit lens in this camera, so this photo was taken with spectacular 55mm :'D

Ah, cool.

Yeah, thanks. I spent a lot of time doing research and finding the place I could get the best deal. What's nice is that because of the sensor in my camera, it has a x1.5 magnification, and that adds on to whatever lens I put on. So apparently, the 70-300mm actually is like a 100-450mm lens. From what I've read I think your camera might have that too. If it's a DX format, then that's the case.

Well, to be able to get that close with the 55mm is great actually. I expected that once I have 300mm I wouldn't need to get so close. Not the case. Closer you can get, the better the photo.
