This isnt a replacement for the original flags though, this is just the Philadelphia pride flag to bring awareness to problems lgbt poc face. I personally dont like it (the striped one, not the one with the fist) because of how it looks, but I think people should still keep using it because of what it represents

Pride flag was fine the way it normally was, because it included everyone and wasn't bound by any race, sex, or ethnicity. The fact that you had to place black and brown does not mean inclusion, it prioritizes to only people who are black or brown color. Furthermore, the fact that they placed the two neutral colors on top means that you're putting more focus on their feelings rather than everyone as a whole.Β
It's a symbol that if you're gay and a minority, then you're more important than one who is white and gay. Furthermore, if it's not about race, then why is there no white stipe on the flag? It's almost like they're not included in this pride flag.Β
Overall, this is not bringing anyone closer it only divides us further. But if the Alphabet people wanna start fighting within themselves, then who am I to stop them. Natural selection at its finest.Β

LGBT+ community doesn't have anything to do with race; the general idea is that the flag and community
represents that it supports anyone who's gay/transgender/etc, no matter what race that person is.
Please people, don't mix things up and make the whole LGBT+ community look racist.

This is just cishet people of color screaming "What about me? I want a piece of that delicious LGBT pie too!" Sorry, it's not a popularity contest to see how many marginalized groups you can fit into.

One of my black friends said its implying all black people are lgbt and ignoring the fact her race can be extremely homophobic

Thank you. Your friend sounds really sensible person. Many black people are more homophobic than white people, according to the same-sex marriage statistics.

It wouldnβt surprise me that the Black Lives Matter would follow the Islamic religion that condones killing LGBTs and violence against women. I wonder if Malcolm X was the most homophobic extremist ever.

Sorry, itβs just that most muslims also come from Africa which also happens to be the home of Boko Haram.

It's not racist to criticize/hate a flag which promotes racism and racial segregation, if that's what you meant.
Pink stripe means sex, and light blue stripe means magic or art.

The light blue stripe was turquoise while the darker blue was actually indigo prior to both of them being replaced by blue, and back then, they had a violet stripe rather than a purple stripe.
