Description A picture of one of my favorite characters, JunJun, who later becomes Sailor Juno, one of Sailor Chibi Moon's guardians. This is her in a "princess style dress", after the style used to show the dresses of the Sol senshi in the 4th artbook. I figure that Juno and the rest of the Sailor Quartet would have the title of 'lady' though, not princess, as Asteroids are smaller than planets.

It took me awhile to come up with a good dress for JunJun, because I see JunJun as being extremely tomboyish and hating anything that makes it hard for her to move around freely. She is an acrobat after all. She also seems like the type who takes her job as a Sailor Senshi very seriously and trains for hours on end so that she can protect Chibi Moon. Part of this comes from her having guilt about being so easily swayed to evil and harming the one she is meant to protect, but I think there's another aspect to it as well. JunJun has trouble showing her feelings through actions like hugs or even simply saying 'I love you'. So instead she shows her love for both her sisters and her princess by wanting to protect them. Of course, most of this is speculation as we don't see much of JunJun after she becomes Sailor Juno, but that's how I see her acting. I don't buy how the manga has these girls SO perfect as soon as they are healed.

Anyways, back to my point. JunJun doesn't seem the type to wear dresses, especially not really poofy and frilly ones. However, poofy and frilly seems to be a requirement for Naoko Takeuchi's princess dresses. So I decided that if JunJun had a princess dress, it would have the full skirt, but it would have a more practical, short skirt underneath so that if she needs to fight she can get rid of the layers of skirt that get in her way. That said, I'm still not sure how anyone got JunJun to smile while wearing that dress (perhaps she is girlier than I first thought?), but it's pretty, so I'll let it go.

I'm really proud of this picture. It's easily the best thing I've ever drawn. I'm not good at drawing and I still can't believe how well this turned out. I drew the outline in pencil, scanned the picture onto the computer and darkened the outline a bit before I printed it out and colored it in with colored pencil. Then I scanned the picture again and cut out JunJun from the background and made a new background as well as the 'J' and the green lightning. All in all, I think it looks pretty nice.

I can see Juno being that way, too.

And I like her dress. Nice and simple.

Aw, how pretty! I like how flowy everything is. You succeeded in making it look like a tomboy would be somewhat comfortable in there while remaining princess-like. Lovely colors, too. ^^
