* I figured out how to achieve smooth and blended shading without using any kinds of extra tools or your fingers or hands.
Wanna know how?? Kneel down, bow 3 times, and call me 'master' ... nah, I'm just kidding ^^
Anyone who wants to know, just ask, maybe I'll tell
-------

I'm sure just few people know who amber heard is, and few have seen the movie 'Never Back Down' (not the greatest movie, but watchable)
What can I say, I like martial arts .. and cute girls ^^

it's indeed hard to tell in this small comments' box, i'm gonna try anyway:
basically the idea is to have 2 shading layers in the end.
i create the first layer by drawing many parallel lines one below the other, it needs some practice to draw even lines, but it's a basic skill every drawing artist should acquire.
are you familiar with the shading technique, where you draw little overlapping circles?
that is basically my second layer, except i draw half circles.

Hello Truyen, I can say that you are an artist of great talent, I also try to draw but I do not get your result ... maybe hehe! I want to ask you how do you get the merger, if you use electricity and rubber type, if the design is modified in contrast with programs for photos, thanks

Truyen In reply to Francesco65 [2012-06-29 14:54:13 +0000 UTC]

thank you very much! I don't use any programs to improve the drawing itself, but to make it look like my real drawing i do slightly change the contrast, and clean the background of the scan, because the raw scanned version never looks like the original drawing.

it's two different systematic techniques of shading two layers, one above the other. it's hard to explain how i do it, to understand people have to watch me do it. I wanted to make a tutorial centuries ago , but unfortunately I've never found the time

Beautiful drawing. best one i've seen of Amber.

*how do you achieve the soft blending shading please?

thanks a lot!
I've promised so many people to make a tutorial, but sadly I don't have the time right now
but i can tell you that it's a systematic way of shading two different layers to achieve the effect, takes longer than using a blending tool.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Truyen In reply to Mistersneaky [2009-10-06 14:32:03 +0000 UTC]

thanks!
k, here it goes:
I basically draw two different shading layers, where the first one is some kind of one directional shading, and the second is drawn over the first one using something similar to the circulism technique (except i draw little half circles).
You didn't get anything, right
It's pretty hard to explain in a few lines and without any pics, maybe I'll do some tutorial ... when i find the time
