Description I really regret scanning this piece. I need a better set-up for photography. Otherwise I need to stop working on canvas boards. Anyhow, this was another little experiment using oil paint, trying out the same style as my previous piece. I worked on them both at the same time, though I certainly had more affection for this piece. I just love little monsters. There was something I really grew to love about this little guy. Anyhow, this piece was also in my vernissage from about two months ago. I should also mention that the restaurant that the event took place in is no more. Sad how that happens. I'd gone there for year and now it's done. Oh well.

Oil on canvas board. I need to try a new style. This was done a little bit more in the way that Chet Zar works, though I'm sure he works on better canvases then me. I need to now give James Gurney and the old masters a fair shake.

This picture is really cool. What inspired you to do this picture?

Honestly, I can't remember. I think I just had this imagine in my head from way back when of a terribly deformed monster and a teddy bear. The creature himself is really just a combination of limbs and parts I thought looked neat.
Wish it was more profound than that, but sometimes I just need a picture of a monster to exist.

Hehe I had a whole series of images like this in mind. It's somewhat inspired by my business card; something horrible with something cute. My next is a clawed, hooded monstrosity with a cupcake.

The bear was one of the most fun parts of this painting. It came out exactly how I wanted, and almost too fast. I wanted to keep working on it.
