This is my entry for the "Drawn to a Moment" Contest [link]This is from a screencap I took myself from the television series Buffy The Vampire Slayer Season 5, Episode "The Gift".
I took a few artistic liberties with the background (simplified a bit) but basically the same thing.
Original size 8x10, which means drawing all those background characters' faces was not easy since I only had a 1cm working space to fit in their likenesses!!

I have to admit something though...big bad on my part...when I drew this it had been years since I've watched Buffy and forgot how integral Spike was at this point in the series and so I chose to omit him from this scene! DOH! Bad bad me!! But glad you enjoyed it

I had gotten lazy and didn't draw him in. I sooooooo regret that decision now that I've had my little Buffy series marathon and realized what a huge mistake leaving him out was. Sigh. Bad me. Might have to do something Spikey to make up for it!

This picture is good, all I want to know is why Tara looks so fat... Amber Benson wasn't fat, she just had a different body shape to the others. I hate it when people draw her as a whale when she isn't actually overweight. That is all.

Thank you for the observation. I'm sorry you're upset by her body set, but that was not my intention. Sometimes the end product of my drawing does not always 100% reflect references. You'll notice that even Xander's face didn't turn out quite like I would have hoped and that the way I did his pants indeed makes him look a little overweight as well. I didn't purposely set in to draw these characters that way. Sometimes I only notice these imperfections after the drawing is done and there's little I can do at that point. I hope you can continue to enjoy that work and the rest of my works as well. Thank you

it's cool. I just think Amber Benson is an amazing person. So my feelings get huty easily. :/ No biggie. I'm not a great drawer so I know how its hard to perfect things the way you want them

Really well done! Your's really great at shading, the pnly critique I have for this is that it could use some darker shading in areas, especially in the background. It would help to put focus on the cast and to convey the emotion of the scene even more. Otherwise, awesome job

Thank you so much for the critique. I actually had a hard time with the background cuz I simply did not know how I wanted to approach it. I think had I gone darker it probably would have made for a more dramatic piece. Thanks and glad you enjoyed it

Thank you! And yep, she actually died twice on the show...first time was back at the end of season one and season 5 were her two deaths. This drawing was the season 5 death.

Thank you! Getting Giles and Buffy's faces were the easiest (so to speak) because they were larger than the others and the reference picture much clearer as compared to the others in the background. I should have done this piece on a larger piece of paper than an 8x10, but it is what it is and still turned out satisfactory
