Giving the Ironborn the belted plaid fits with what I always envisioned, a kind of Celtic/Norse mix like the medieval Islemen of the Hebrides.

This is great, the Northman is perfect. I always pictured the iron born as having, well more iron armor and what have you. perhaps this iron born is a sailer and sailor and doesn't want to wear heavy plate in case he falls overboard during a a ship boarding. The furs on both look great as well.

Interesting choice giving the Ironman a kilt, I really like the Northman and I wouldn't change a thing but I always thought of Northerners as more Scottish than any of the other areas, your Ironman evoked Viking in his helmet, shield, and axe thought which I like.

Now I really do enjoy this image because it plays into (and may indeed have helped to form!) my own mental image of The Iron Islands owing as much to The Kingdom of the Isles as they do to the Vikings (not least because the Lords of both these Island realms shared a fondness for their neighbour's property and a bad habit of regarding more powerful neighbours as equals or inferiors …).
I also enjoy the way that you have designed the Northman to evoke a silhouette straight out of the Dark Ages, which seems entirely appropriate for The North, with it's ancient pre-knightly traditions.

PERFECT-NORTHMAN ! Same goes for the Greyjoy. Personally I think Ironmen should look like Vikings, but Tartan fits as well.

for whatever reason I always pictured the Ironborn favoring muttonchops to full beards.
