"It's so hot, I just wanted to go swimming. Looks like I won't be leaving the cool depths of the ocean anytime soon. But hey. 'Least things won't heat up down here too much, right?"So, I don't do backgrounds much, but I really need to work on them. This piece was to give me some practice on that.

Pretty nice drawing, looks like his/her left arm could use some work, but other than that looks pretty good.
Backgrounds can be pretty hard to do, especially if you focus mostly on drawing characters only. Something that you can do with your backgrounds to make them look better is to add a lot more detail, it will take you a lot more time to draw them but it s going to create some nice contrast between your character and your BG.
