Just a quick sketch I did today, 'cos I noticed it's been ages since I drew Cole. I'm not sure why, but he also looks a few years older here o_O Ehh, I dunno. I think I did well with the lighting style. Perhaps I should've kept it white, instead of yellow

And no, that's not a smile. He doesn't smile

[link] The bottom black ones are visual art diaries. They're like special sketch pads. Graininess means the paper is not smooth, but quite textured. It's like drawing on wood or stone, only not that grainy

I think he looks older 'cause of the lengthened proportions, and the more muscular neck ^^

The yellow glow gives a feeling of comfort to the image, so I guess it works, maybe not as bright though. He looks contented, Smile Cole SMILE for ME

Once again, your sketches amaze me. cross-hatching is considerably harder to do well than single hatch (I think, maybe it's just my artistic ineptitude ). The lighting is good too, and the yellow was a good choice I think, it complements the color of his cloak, eyes, and hair (even if their color is just from shadow/ indirect lighting). Oh, and the title is quite interesting after reading your explanations. He does seem kinda like a Black&White character, but in the sense of he himself is in some way both Black and White, rather than the view that everything in the world is either black OR white. IDK, I'll have to read your stories one of these days. I think I'd like them.

I pride myself on my observational abilities as I think I mentioned in one of my other comments somewhere. mayby not, but anyhow, It's very nice to know that I was able to get this one. And now it's time for me to again repeatedly bash myself over the head with a random textbook in preparation for the last finals here.....

Yeah, much older. Probably because his face is a little bigger and less, y'know, squishy. I do rather like the yellow highlights, makes it look warmer, despite Cole's 'no smile' policy.

I like sunrise too but I never end up seing them coz am too lazy... but sometimes on my way to school (I almost sleep on my bike sometimes) I withness some in the park and its real nice!
