Why do I get the image of her Earth vehicle mode being a '80s van complete with awesome heavy metal album cover mural on the sides?ย Only with Cybertronians on it instead of humans to make it even more metal?

Canonically, that's up for debate. That's just how they seemed to act like to me, so I just went with it.

I used a knock-off Cyberjet for the base figure (with additional parts from another), the front end from a micro R/C car body, the feet from a TFA black Arachnia, A Listerineยฎ bottle (for the canopy), and a lot of sctratch building.

Yep. Watching the episode The Search for Alpha Trion The interactions between Chromia and Moonracer always gave me the impression of a mother interacting with her impulsive daughter> So, I speculated, "What if they actually were mother and daughter?" That would make Ironhide Moonracer's father. That little bit of fan speculation (which is by no means canon by any stretch of the imagination, unfortunately) was not only the impetus for that little passage in this bio, but also my one-page comic, Daddy's Little Girl, also found in my gallery.

her voce acting made her to me think ofa best friend but chromia dose have the mother wolf or bear aspect about her as dose elita if anything if you follow the old comics burn up who was being tained by star fire is the kidy type- star failed training ehr chromia converscated the youngling for her own safty to train instead =3
but dont let em burst your bubble =3 there are many virses many consepts my mine set always ahd it as elita big mama, mia wanting to be in lead but is still happy with second and leading her smaller party, starfire just dosnt care just wnats to get the missions out the way, moon the klutz alot of shows have that oen female you want to face palm "you where just told NOT to do that!!"
XD

You mean Flareup and Firestar, not Burnup and Starfire, but yeah, I get the idea.
The thing about Chromia is, like Ironhide on Prime's team, she's also the oldest of that entire crew. IN human terms, Optimus and Elita are roughly equivalent to someone in their early to mid 40s, give or take. By contrast, Ironhide and Chromia are equal to people in their late fifties to early sixties. They're the old war-horses, the experienced NCOs.
Speaking of Flareup, her bio says she was Firestar's protรฉgรฉ, I like to think of her as Firestar's and Inferno's daughter as well. She even looks similar to Firestar (which was, of course, intentional since the original plan was for her to be Firestar, but Fun Publications and Hasbro couldn't get the trademark).
